This weekend I decided to do something I donā€™t do often enoughā€”shop local. šŸŽ£

I made my way through my hometown of Ripley, Mississippi, checking out Freemans & Co. Market looking through fishing tackle. Thereā€™s just something different about walking into a local store, talking fishing with folks who know the area, and finding that one lure or rod you didnā€™t know you needed until you saw it. šŸ˜Ž

Every tackle shop has its own personality, and you never know what hidden gems you might find hanging on the pegboard. From bass baits to crappie tackle, itā€™s always worth taking a look around and supporting the businesses that support our community.

Now Iā€™ve got a question for my fishing friendsā€¦

Ever notice how a little break can make all the difference? šŸŽ£

With Tippah Lake closed for a bit, I had a feeling those fish were getting a chance to relax from all the pressure. So today, I slipped out for just an hour to see if my theory held water.

Wellā€¦ letā€™s just say the fish were definitely in a better mood! šŸ˜ŽšŸŸ

In a short hour, I managed to catch several fish and enjoyed every minute of it. Sometimes itā€™s not about spending all day on the waterā€”itā€™s about making the most of the time you have and appreciating those moments when everything seems to come together.

Now the question isā€¦ was it the lake closure, the lure, or just being in the right place at the right time? šŸ¤”
