A blacksmith forged the same sword every morning.

People laughed.

“You already have enough swords,” they said.

He just smiled and kept hammering.

One day, raiders swept through the village without warning. While everyone else scrambled to find dull, rusty blades, the blacksmith calmly reached for the sword he had sharpened that morning.

He didn’t become ready because danger came.

He survived because he had stayed ready before it did.
