Let’s celebrate this young man! Let me tell you about Brady. Today we were in the middle of a drill and he said ā€œcoach i just wanted to ask if you think I look more slim compared to when I startedā€ I told him ā€œAbsolutely man, you look great!ā€

Brady joined about a year ago. His family said he really struggles with self esteem issues around his size and being teased for it. He joined the program and was a class clown. Wouldn’t try, wouldn’t give much effort, would constantly complain and say he hates this…Reminds me of myself at that age.

The thing is I kept telling him ā€œbro i know this isn’t your best, You are an incredible young man and you need to start acting like itā€.

It took a lot to get through to him, he’s built this protective shell of disguising his pain with humor. Always cracking jokes about himself and calling himself fat. It’s important when kids do this to shut that down right away. Anytime he would put himself down I’d say ā€œbro stop saying things like that about yourself, the things you tell yourself are powerful, instead of calling yourself fat, acknowledge that you are like 6 foot 2 AND strong as hellā€.

In the last few months something clicked and he’s TRYING now, he got a gym membership and I’ve been giving him lifting advice and now he’s deadlifting over 400 pounds! I always take the time after class to tell him he did a great job and that i’m PROUD of him. He started taking pride in his appearance. He started wearing smaller clothes recently and made a point to tell him he looked great. I told him he looks fresh with his new haircut and he just LIT UP, you can tell he was happy about it.
He has gotten so much slimmer and you see his confidence has grown so much and he’s proud of HIMSELF. He’s taking pride in self improvement and is always excited to tell me about the new goal he reached at the gym.

I just wanted to share this because this is incredible and we should celebrate young men like this.

If you see Brady around tell him he looks great because you have no idea how much work he’s been doing behind the scenes to work on himself.

Proud of you Brady šŸ™šŸ¼šŸ’ŖšŸ»

I was in juvenile hall by 11, back at 13 and again at 15. I was experimenting with drinking at drugs around that age too. I was bullied, teased, called fat ass and nerd almost every day at school, I never told my parents. I even had teachers in school tell me I was going to be in prison instead of being in college(kinda messed up now that I think of it) but they were right. All signs pointed to me being a screwup when I grew up but somehow I turned it around. I’ll tell you one thing, my teachers would’ve been right if it wasn’t for meeting a couple mentors and coaches in my early teenage years. I was known as the trouble maker of town before the business owner you see now. Parents I just want to stress this….As a kid who had an amazing mom who was loving and caring, it’s still not enough to keep kids from straying. You can do everything in the world for your kids but there’s only so much you can do.

Many of you have kids who are going into middle school or highschool and are dealing with things they don’t tell you about. Like dealing with getting bullied and thinking it’s normal. Or lacking confidence and self belief so it’s hard for them to talk to that girl or boy at school. Or getting teased and called ugly or fat.

Some have kids that are bullies and don’t know it because they are sweethearts at home. This stems from lacking confidence and they would rather be the bully instead of BEING bullied, not realizing there is other ways to be cool…. Some of you have kids that are going to start experimenting with drugs because they don’t have the leadership skills or self confidence to say no when the social pressure comes.

If I had something like this when I was in my younger years it would have prevented all of that.

I don’t do this kickboxing program to make money, I do it because this is what saved my life and I hope to help the new generation of kids along the way to be leaders and strong young men and women and give them the tools to be successful in their young adult lives.

I know you all are incredible parents, but there comes a point where kids need someone outside of their family to be their mentors and coaches and let them start to shine independently and excel. Kickboxing is different than most team sports where it’s so much focus on PERSONAL growth and some kids are like me that aren’t athletic and not good at normal sports like soccer, baseball, football and basketball. But kickboxing is different. at his gives them a chance to really excel at something and get REALLY good and they start to build that confidence that they actually fit in somewhere.

Kids Kickbkoxing is BACK to normal times now that school is back in. Every wednesday at 2pm for the little ninjas and 3pm for the big ninjas 🄷.

Our little ninjas in action!
Watch how we run our classes.

If you like what you see,
Please keep us in mind if you’re looking for an activity or sport for your kids.

This is the age 5-10 class.

I may not be the right coach for everyone but take a look at this video and judge for yourself if you think your kids might enjoy our program!

Theres a lot of crappy martial arts programs out there and some really sketchy instructors.

Not all martial arts programs or instructors are the same.

I like to post these videos so you can see who I am, my vibe, how I interact with the kids, the kind of material we teach, etc.

Parents I know there isn’t much for the kids to do these days, a lot of parents have been enrolling their kids in our program and they are absolutely loving it.

Watch until the end so you can see the awesome game the kids earned as a reward for doing a great job!

Class Schedule:
Every Wednesday
Age 5-10 Class is @ 2-3pm
Age 11-17 Class is @ 3-4pm

Sparring with my Students

One thing that is very important as a coach is to build up your kids at a young age and give them confidence. Light sparring will allow them to feel more comfortable with combat.

Most people flinch, close their eyes or turn away when under attack. As you can see Seth has NONE of those habits.

Eyes open, intelligent defense and confident to land his own strikes.

Proud of this young man for the huge progress he’s been making
