It has been busy in the shop! Another rod is off the bench and headed to a new customer in Portland, OR. This CTS Quartz 7'6" 4wt golden honey features a simple build design using Lemke dark nickel hardware, a spalted maple insert, Snake Brand light wire guides, a beautiful honey banded agate from Joe Arguello and Kimono silk wraps. James requested a grip with specific grip sizings and shape so I was able to turn the flor grade cork to those specs.

Here is the same rod but wrapped in Pearsall's Gossamer classic chestnut silk! This is a beautiful variation and I'm offering it on 2 rods.
8’6” 5 Weight, 4 Piece Glass
Inspired by a personal rod I completed in 2021 in memory of my father, this 5 weight has become a favorite for larger water—especially my home river, the Rio Grande. With the power to turn over big dries, droppers, double nymph rigs, and streamers, it still carries the backbone needed for larger fish.
For the anniversary series, this model uses Mike’s legendary GTX taper on translucent “autumn glow” blanks in a 4 piece tip over configuration. Features include Snake Brand guides, Struble agate st****er, teriyaki and black silk wraps, 6.5” Ritz flor grip, shop turned olive wood insert, and Struble 241 down locking hardware. I’ll also be offering a slight variation on 2 of the 5 rods, featuring Pearsall’s Gossamer silk wraps in classic chestnut. Includes custom rod sock and tube. Limited to 5 rods. DM to order!

Up next are two slide band versions of the 3 and 4 weight anniversary rods. Both rods feature the same components and build designs- McFarland fiberglass blanks, Snake Brand Guides, beautiful agates by both Struble Manufacturing and Joe Arguello, Lemke slide band dark nickel seat with cork insert, and custom rod bags and tubes. Earlier this year I decided to list a few blanks from my personal inventory as available for builds. This Tom Morgan fiberglass 8' 5 weight made the list and was quickly picked up by my long time customer and friend Dave Pyle. This blank was part of an original batch of blanks I received from Tom in 2014 and was rolled by Kerry Burkheimer.
The build features a stabilized burled maple insert with Lemke hardware, Snake Brand guides, silk wraps, and a custom rod sock and tube.
This beautiful rod will be right at home with Dave as he spends most of his time chasing trout in Idaho, Oregon, and Montana!
