With Momentum Sprint Car Tour at Colorado National Speedway.

Had a fast car last night. Unfortunately, a caution came out 8 laps into the main event just as we were running down the leader. We ran over something that punctured the right-front tire, and the car got worse as the race went on. When we got to tech, officials noticed the right-front tire was leaking air. We just needed a little more luck on our side last night.

Thanks to all who make it possible Atlas Pumping, Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Tiffany Fanelli, Ortega’s Appliance, and Hal Burns Truck and RV.

Excited for our next race at Colorado National Speedway with the wings on July 3rd and 4th!

Hathaway triumphant again at Colorado National Speedway

Mike Hathaway of Falcon, Colorado charged from his 2nd place starting position Saturday night to capture the feature win in the Momentum Sprint Car Tour. He was followed to the line by Michael Fanelli of Rio Rancho, New Mexico and Ryan Riggs of Colorado Springs, Colorado to round out the top three.
Josh Lewis of Aurora, Colorado led the field to the green, but by turn two, Hathaway established his position at the top and never looked back.
A short caution 8 laps in to the feature brought the field back together allowing Fanelli to start beside Hathaway, but the black #27 quickly jumped into the lead and never looked back. Hathaway also established a new track record in qualifying with a lap time of 16.576, earning the MPD Racing quick time award.
The heat race was won by Fanelli.
Ryan Riggs earned the Allstar Performance Hard Charger award.

OPEN WHEEL SHOWDOWN ENTRY LIST FULL

September 26, 2025 - Las Vegas, Nevada - Bitnile.com Open Wheel Showdown Presented by askROI officials today confirmed that all 70-winged sprint car entries for the November 6-8 event have been filled. Any additional entries will be placed on a waiting list.

New teams considering entering the event shouldn’t be discouraged. Due to various reasons, a handful of entrants withdraw from the event annually closer to race weekend. It is safe to say additional spots will most likely open for teams looking to enter the event at the last minute.

This year’s event will mark the third edition of the richest pavement sprint car race in the World. This year will also mark the third consecutive year the $50,000-to-win winged sprint car race has been held at the “Bullring” at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The racy 3/8-mile semi-banked track has proved to be the perfect venue for this prestigious event.

The entry list for this year’s race already features nearly all the best pavement sprint car drivers in the country, representing virtually every sanctioning body in North America.

Defending race winner Kody Swanson returns after his upset win in 2024. Even though Swanson is considered one of the best pavement sprint car drivers in the country, it had been nearly ten years since he last raced a winged pavement sprint car prior to last season’s triumphant win.

Inaugural 2023 champion Aaron Willison is another notable entrant. Two-time runner-up Bobby Santos III has also added his name to the list. Drivers from nearly 15 states and Canada make up the entry list.

The Open Wheel Showdown has annually closed out the pavement sprint car racing season. Many series have concluded their seasons by the time Open Wheel Showdown nears and teams migrate to Las Vegas for one final fling. Fans are treated to a longer distance, 100-lap finale, ran in two segments, with a break in the middle.

For fans unable to make this year’s race, both nights will air on SpeedSport.tv
