All trail markers have been pulled for Region 5 McHenry County.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RIDE TODAY.
Riding unmarked trails means you are officially trespassing.
DNR tickets can be as high as $400.00 for riding unmarked conservation areas.

While we've been holding out hope for more riding this season, unfortunately the clock has run out this year. The annual MCSA trail agreement on MCCD property expires on March 15. Clubs to our north have pulled their markers, and our crews have started to do the same where they can.

Thanks to all our members who put so much time and effort into making snowmobiling happen here. I don't think anyone expected the drought we had this winter after the start we had.

We'll clean everything up, put it away and try again next year!

 We hope you all had a chance to ride the trails but as of midnight tonight December 15/16 the trails of McHenry County will be closed. With the warm weather coming we’re closing them. We wish everybody a very happy holiday season and Think Snow!

There has been some questions about how to get to the trail from the Park & Ride. Its goes in front of the mobil, along the side by the pole barn and out the back. The trail no longer goes behind Herner's Hideaway. The trails stops at Herner's Hideaway driveway. Attached is a picture to help. Please spread the word. Thank you.

Fingers crossed everything holds up and we can get some great December riding in!

"Tentatively, McHenry County Snowmobile trails will open on Friday, December 12th at 9 am . The intent is to allow the snowpack to firm back up after the warm temps and mixed precipitation over the next few days. Please monitor our page for further updates to this plan.

We're so thankful for all the club members across the state and our friends in Wisconsin who have been working their tails off the last few weeks to get the trails put in now that harvest is finishing up. Although the snow this weekend will be a welcome sight, we are still hard at work on them.

The earliest our trails can open is December 10th per our trail agreements. Let's hope for more cold and snow between now and then.

Trails are still closed. You might see a groomer out and about trying to farm some more snow and pack in what we've got. Fingers crossed for the snow tomorrow and Saturday

This winter is definitely hitting our northwestern Wisconsin businesses very hard !!!

No snowmobilers, no ice fishermen.... Bad news up in the woods this year 💔💔💔
