🥎🧡💜 UNITY GIRLS SHOWED UP TODAY! 💜🧡🥎

We started the day with a tough pool-play loss to our good friends Georgia Power – Benson, which landed us in the Silver Bracket.

And from there? THE GIRLS WENT UNDEFEATED. 🔥💪

🥎 Hericanes — W 8-3
🥎 Mountain Mystics — W 10-2
🥎 Mountain Mystics — W 4-3

That championship game was an absolute BATTLE. 😮‍💨🔥 Close, intense, and down to the wire!

With the game on the line, Paisley Moore came through with the winning run on a dropped third strike — and in true softball fashion, she turned it into a drop-third-strike HOME RUN! 🏃‍♀️💨🥎

These girls could’ve let that pool-play loss set the tone for the rest of the day. Instead, they reset, battled, and didn’t lose another game.

UNDEFEATED IN BRACKET PLAY. SILVER BRACKET CHAMPS! 🏆

So proud of the fight, grit, and teamwork these Unity girls showed today. 🧡💜

One Team! One Goal! Unity!

This brand-new squad walked onto the field with a mountain to climb. heart and hustle can bridge any gap, and these girls proved they belong among!

We kicked off the day facing competition in a heartbreaking 4-2 battle against Diamond Select, followed by an absolute statement 16-0 shutout victory over Heat!

straight into the Gold division, the girls left everything on the dirt. In a heart-pounding thriller, they came up just short in a 5-4 loss against Mercy Fastpitch.

Dropping to Silver only lit a fire in them. The girls came into it with strong beating Heat 13-2 to punch their ticket to the top.

they seized the moment—coming in hot to the championship beating Team Tennessee Bunch 8-3 to capture the victory.

Acelynn Southerland got MVP for her amazing attitude, resilience behind the plate, and the power she brought to the plate in much needed moments. She has been an amazing addition to the team and look forward to seeing her strive!

Today, our Unity Softball family pauses to remember Willow #24.

Although Willow wasn’t a member of our team, she was part of the softball community that so many of us call home. At just 13 years old, her life was tragically cut short after experiencing bullying.

Our hearts are with Willow’s family, friends, teammates, coaches, and everyone whose lives she touched.

To every young athlete reading this: You matter. You are loved. And you are never alone. If you’re being bullied, feeling overwhelmed, or struggling with thoughts you don’t know how to handle, please tell someone you trust—a parent, grandparent, coach, teacher, school counselor, or another trusted adult. Asking for help is a sign of strength, and there are people who want to listen and help you through it.

As parents, coaches, teammates, and community members, let’s continue to build a culture where kindness wins, everyone feels included, and no child has to face their struggles alone.

Please be kind. Your words have power. A single act of kindness can change someone’s day—and sometimes even save a life.

Rest easy, Willow #24. You will not be forgotten. 💙🥎
