Auburn Junior Varsity Eagles Grabs Lead Late For Victory Over Grayson County Junior Varsity Blue Devils

Auburn Junior Varsity Eagles topped Grayson County Junior Varsity Blue Devils 7-6 on Friday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at six in the bottom of the sixth when Aiden Smith singled, scoring one run.

Both teams had their chances in the game, but eventually Auburn Junior Varsity Eagles took the lead thanks to a single in the sixth inning.

Big Second Inning Leads Auburn Junior Varsity Eagles Past Eastern Montgomery Junior Varsity Mustangs

Auburn Junior Varsity Eagles scored 12 runs in the second inning, which helped them defeat Eastern Montgomery Junior Varsity Mustangs 12-0 on Friday. Blake Shumate singled, scoring two runs, Asher Price singled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, Brayden Board drew a walk, scoring one run, Alex Young was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Josh Garnand singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Braxton Pettus was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Colin Roark doubled, scoring two runs.

Young earned the win for Auburn Junior Varsity Eagles. The lefty gave up one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out five and walking none. Raylan Conner took the loss for Eastern Montgomery Junior Varsity Mustangs. The hurler went one and two-thirds innings, giving up 12 runs (four earned) on five hits, striking out one and walking three. Roark pitched two innings of zero-run ball for Auburn Junior Varsity Eagles in relief. The pitcher gave up zero hits, striking out four and walking two.

Roark drove the middle of the lineup, leading Auburn Junior Varsity Eagles with three runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Leadoff hitter Price led Auburn Junior Varsity Eagles with two hits in four at bats.

Brayden Kingery led Eastern Montgomery Junior Varsity Mustangs with one hit in one at bat.

Canyon Calhoun Leads Auburn Junior Varsity Eagles Past Blacksburg Bruins JV

Canyon Calhoun was dominant on the mound, as the starter rang up 10 strikeouts in Auburn Junior Varsity Eagles's 11-1 victory over Blacksburg Bruins JV on Thursday. Calhoun gave up one hit and one run over four innings while walking five.

Auburn Junior Varsity Eagles won thanks in part to six runs in the second inning. Blake Shumate drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Aiden Smith tripled, scoring one run, and Jayden Lawrence doubled, scoring three runs.

Auburn Junior Varsity Eagles got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Smith singled down the right field line, and Smith scored after tagging up, each scoring one run.

Auburn Junior Varsity Eagles added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Blacksburg Bruins JV committed an error, Colin Roark singled to center field, and Brayden Board singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.

Zay Noble took the loss for Blacksburg Bruins JV. The starter went two innings, giving up eight runs (two earned) on five hits, striking out two and walking four. Roark pitched one inning of no-run ball for Auburn Junior Varsity Eagles in relief. The reliever surrendered zero hits, striking out one and walking none.

Lawrence led Auburn Junior Varsity Eagles with three runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The catcher went 1-for-3 on the day. Smith and Board each collected two hits for Auburn Junior Varsity Eagles.

David Woolwine went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead Blacksburg Bruins JV in hits. Blacksburg Bruins JV turned one double play in the game.

Auburn Junior Varsity Eagles welcome Eastern Montgomery Junior Varsity Mustangs on Friday for their next game.
