When most people think of yoga, they focus on the flexibility and the postures. But the physical poses (asanas) are actually just one part of the practice.

Hundreds of years ago a philosopher named Patanjali wrote the Yoga Sutras. These Sutras are a guide for leading a peaceful and meaningful life. In the Yoga Sutras Patanjali lays out the Eight Limbs of Yoga as a map for us to follow. The first two limbs are the Yamas (social ethics) and the Niyamas (personal practices).

Think of them as yoga’s guide to navigating your relationship with the world around you, and your relationship with yourself.

Another member of our current YTT group is taking the mic—well, the mat—tomorrow to lead you through practice!

If you’re not a studio member, you’re welcome to attend free or drop in for any cash amount you feel is fair. We are donating all moneys received during this time to in honor of sweet Jenny Woodward and her brave journeys through breast cancer.

In the summer we have to move things around a bit. Some of our instructors are available at different times, have kiddos out of school, or maybe are school teachers and not working their usual school days.
