We specialize in day trip fishing for steelhead trout from heated aluminum drift boats. The boats can accommodate 1-3 anglers +guide, we typically fish a 5-10 mile stretch from sunrise to 4:30 pm MST. Our outfitted steelhead season starts September 15th and ends March 31st giving us an amazing 6 month window to catch big fish on the Salmon River. The permits we use for day trip fishing is from Vin
egar Creek to Taylor Beach a 65 mile section that runs south to north catching ample winter sun, making this some of the most pleasant winter steelhead water in Idaho. Spring Chinook is a May and June fishing season and we offer day trips starting around May 15th and running through mid June. Seats are limited and run size and timings are often different year to year. We start booking these trips on the morning of May 1st when the best information is available, call early we fill quickly for this season. Smallmouth Bass fishing from a drift boat on the Salmon River is a summer must. We offer full day and half day excursions from Riggins. Expect to catch a bunch of fish and bring your swimming suit the river is beautiful and warm this time of year. Rapid River Outfitters offers an Idaho classic called the fall cast and blast this is world favorite chance to angle for steelhead, smallmouth bass, and camloop trout. As if this wasn’t enough, we will also be stopping to upland game bird hunt for chukar, quail, and Hungarian partridge. We provide a very comfortable camp with walk in tents, cots, and a warm fire every night. We also pride ourselves as the best open fire and Dutch oven camp cooks on the lower salmon. Multi-day floats are run out of drift boats, 2 sportsmen +guide per boat (bird dogs welcome). The cast and blast season is the 3rd Saturday of September through October 15th.
