As families head back to school, the river settles into a slower pace.

Late-season trips often attract more couples, groups of friends, and adults looking to unplug and reconnect with nature.

If you've been dreaming about a peaceful escape filled with whitewater, campfires, incredible meals, and canyon views, now is the perfect time to go.

Your next adventure is waiting!

Late summer brings a different rhythm to the river.

✔ Easygoing mornings
✔ Fun, splashy rapids
✔ Long evenings around camp
✔ Beautiful late-summer canyon colors

With fewer people on the river, there's even more time to slow down, soak in the scenery, and enjoy every mile.

August is one of our favorite times to raft and we think you'll see why.

Reserve your trip while late-season dates are still available.

There's something special about rafting Idaho in late summer.

The crowds begin to thin, the pace slows down, and the canyon takes on a whole new personality. Mornings are peaceful, afternoons are filled with splashy whitewater, and evenings around camp seem to last a little longer.

If you've been waiting for the perfect time to experience the river, this might be it.

Book your late-summer rafting trip before the season comes to a close.

Meet Jayda! 🌊

Originally from Las Vegas, Jayda is heading into her third season guiding with Mountain River Outfitters and she's found a second home on the Salmon River.

Her favorite stretches? Rapid Day on the Main Salmon and Blue Canyon on the Lower Salmon, where big whitewater, incredible scenery, and unforgettable moments come together. If she's picking a campsite, it's Rabbit Camp every time. (Just don't ask her to stay at Upper Whap... according to Jayda, that's where bad things happen.)

For Jayda, the best part of guiding isn't just the river, it's the people. Every trip brings together strangers who quickly become friends, and she loves sharing the little things that make the Salmon River so special.

Whether she's teaching guests how to judge the depth of the water when they can't see the bottom or pointing out one of her favorite "groover views," she's always eager to share her knowledge and enthusiasm for the canyon.

Around camp, you'll usually find her laughing with guests, sharing the story behind how the groover got its name, or enjoying one of her favorite meals—Noah's Pesto Chicken (with the Sriracha Honey Cauliflower coming in as a close second).

If you've floated with Jayda before, there's a good chance you remember her monkey calls echoing through the canyon or the laughter that seems to follow her down the river.

Her guiding philosophy?
"The river taketh and the river giveth."

When asked what she hopes guests take home from their trip, her answer is classic

Jayda:
"A five-star p**p on the groover!" 😂

When she's not on the river, you'll find her climbing, skiing, mountain biking, watercolor painting, or finding any excuse to play outside. She's also currently learning Spanish, so if you're fluent, don't be surprised if she asks you to help her practice while you're on the river!

Whether she's navigating rapids, swapping stories around camp, or making everyone laugh, Jayda's goal is simple: to help every guest leave with incredible memories, new friendships, and a deeper appreciation for the Salmon River.

Come experience the river with Jayda this season! 🤙

This is what a real weekend looks like. 🌙

Two days on the Salmon River — Class III whitewater, a guide-cooked dinner on a sandy riverside beach, a campfire under the stars, and a canyon so deep it makes the Grand Canyon look modest.

Wake up to a fresh breakfast. Hit the river again. Come home completely unplugged.

Our 2-day overnight trip is perfect for families, couples, and anyone overdue for an actual adventure.
