If anyone has been following the ATF Arm brace debate, and subsequent ruling, the FINAL ruling is out! Once it is entered into the Federal Registry, you will have 120 days to comply with the ruling.
If you have an AR15 pistol, or AK pistol fitted with an arm brace, the ATF is now going to consider these SBRs (Short Barreled Rifles).
The options to comply, are few, and can potentially be confusing for the average gun owner.

This will make life easier for one of the options.
Options to assist with compliance of the new ruling are as follows:
1. Registration; The ATF is allowing owners of AR15, and AK pistols with arm braces to submit an ATF form 1 to register the weapon as a SBR (Short Barreled Rifle) without having to pay $200.00 per weapon for a Tax Stamp.
2. Disassembly; the owner would have to remove the arm brace, and alter, or replace the buffer tube to ensure that a stock, or arm brace could not be re-attached.
3. Destruction; Destroy the weapon, with proof of destruction.
4. Submit the firearm to the ATF for a determination. DO NOT EXPECT THE FIREARM TO BE RETURNED TO YOU!!
Option 1 would be the simplest of the options for a gun owner.
