If this totally natural, completely realistic and definitely-not-ridiculous race illustration made you stop scrolling… good. Mission accomplished.
Now that we’ve got your attention:
REGISTRATION IS OPEN for the 2026 Ridgway 1K: Rally Thru the Alley for the Arts!
AND… this year, the ridiculousness keeps going with San Juan Oktoberfest and Voyager’s Pumpkin Palooza — both happening right after the “run” for a full day of small-town fun.
Join us Sunday, Oct. 4 in Ridgway for costumes, community, creativity and utter silliness in the very best way.
The Ridgway 1K is family-friendly, all ages are welcome, and kids run FREE (accompanied by a registered adult). Expect costume contests, themed “aid stations” unlike anything you’ve ever encountered during a race, and plenty of surprises along the route.
And remember: it’s only .62 miles of rugged downhill terrain. YOU CAN DO THIS!
Cross the Finish Line at Hartwell Park and keep the party going with Voyager’s Pumpkin Palooza for kids + San Juan Oktoberfest — featuring live polka music by RSS Band members + POLKA POYO, Oktoberfest-style beers, cider and wines, German−inspired food from Greenwoods, traditional contests and much more.
THE REAL TAKEAWAY IS THIS: Sign up for the 1K! Grab your friends. Start planning your costumes. And mark your calendar for one seriously fun Sunday in Ridgway.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4
Ridgway 1K: approximately 12:35–1:55 PM
Voyager’s Pumpkin Palooza: approximately 1–4 PM
San Juan Oktoberfest: 2–5 PM
And one important Oktoberfest note:
Entry to San Juan Oktoberfest is FREE! What’s not free is all that delicious food and drink, so bring some spending money and come ready to enjoy yourself.
You’ll find Oktoberfest-style beers, ciders and wines at the bar, plus German-inspired food from Greenwoods — so support our food vendor and our fundraising and come hungry!
And PLEASE: no outside alcohol. The event premises are licensed for the day, which means bringing in your own alcohol isn’t legal — and, frankly, it’s also kind of a jerk move. Bar sales help us pay for this whole shindig and keep Oktoberfest going!
So leave the cooler at home, buy your food and drink onsite, support Greenwoods and the two nonprofits that bring you magic on the regular, and help us keep this whole ridiculous afternoon going!
