Yoga check in ❤️

Felt apt to post this one again. For back when everything in the world started to be… not great. I was in such a deep depression when I drew this. I can remember the exact feeling in my body as I struggled to get the wash right despite being in an artistic dead zone 😵‍💫

please join me this evening at 7PM to close all of the tabs with a supportive and restorative Yin Yoga practice.
We will begin by opening the thoracic spine, after a day of forward folding in our work/play lives and move gently and mindfully from there.
The blank walls of the studio will create the perfect prop support for our closing postures before savasana🙏.
Savasana was ‘the hook’ that kept me coming back to yoga.
was “The Hook” who inspired me to learn more about Yin yoga.
It is a privilege to sub for Laurie this evening🙏 Come and roll out your mat with me this evening.
My karma yoga teaching practice supports the work of the Ignatian Spirituality Project and the HoYo community.

Meditation Moment…always a favorite: simple, powerful and loving.

Behold God … beholding you … and smiling.

Please join me this evening at 7PM for Gentle Flow and Yin, followed by a sweet, extended savasana.
No whale music, I promise. 😉
The spa and peaceful environment is courtesy of HoHoKus Yoga.
My karma teaching practice supports the Ignatian Spirituality Project and others who receive the peaceful residue from the practice.
Namaste🙏

In my faith tradition, I am invited to spend the next 40 days considering how to: act justly, love tenderly, and walk humbly with my God.
When I am reminded of the amount of screen time I devote to scrolling, now is the time to: shift, from scrolling to contemplation.
Yoga helps, and affirms this ‘time out’ by using 8 limbs of the practice to yoke ourselves to God.
I am so grateful to the yoga practitioners who join me on Wednesday evenings to live, breathe move and honor our beings
I am so grateful for this 5000 year old practice.🙏
My karma yoga practice is: teaching.
The proceeds are shared with the Ignatian Spirituality Project. The project enables others to take time out for Spiritual Maintenance.
Thank you, yoga.🙏

Please send me a ❤️ if you remember this device 😉
And, if you feel ‘called’ to join me this evening at 7PM, this practice may be for you. We will live, and breathe, and move and honor our being with Candlelight Flow for 30 minutes, then transition to a Yin practice for 30 minutes. Then, we transition to a lingering savasana, to allow the parasympathetic nervous system to override the need to take that call.
Thank you, yoga🙏 for helping humanity to move toward kindness and gentleness, one practice at a time🙏
(These days, this feels like the best thing that we can do for our world.)
My karma teaching practice supports The Ignatian Spirituality Project. The project allows others the opportunity to connect with their Divine through a retreat experience.🙏

Art imitates life.
Last evening, I chose to share a pose that “everyone except .james.yoga can do” : Firelog /Square Pose.
So, I practiced ahimsa, and reached for some props. Then, I understood the meaning behind the often used phrase, “the pose you avoid is the one you need the most.”
(Thanks to my student, Erin, for being my teacher.)
