Chainey Briar Stables LLC is a unique boarding stable in that we are a grain-free, barefoot barn. Healthy horses are what we are all about, and we keep looking for ways to improve the quality of life for the horses in our care. With many years of research in equine nutrition, we came across a feed product that is unlike any other. CoolStance coconut copra, which means responsible equine nutrition

CoolStance is suitable for all horses, ponies, donkeys, and mules and is an excellent source of fiber and medium-chain triglycerides for those horses with metabolic challenges such as insulin resistance, tying up, EPSM, etc. because it is low in sugar and starch but provides high digestible, cool energy. CoolStance has been around for more than 30 years in Australia and the UK. No matter the season it’s important to make sure your horse is drinking enough water.

Many people add salt to their horse’s feed bucket or put flavorings in their water to encourage water consumption, but this doesn’t always work. A simple way to increase water consumption is by adding a cup of SAINFOIN to the feed!

When comparing the amount of time horse’s spent chewing alfalfa (pellets) vs sainfoin (pellets), horses spent an average of 30% more time chewing the sainfoin. Because of the slightly higher tannin levels the horses salivated more and drank up to twice the amount of water! Sainfoin is an easy way to support normal digestive processes to ease concerns about impaction colic in horses who don’t drink enough water in the water.
