Action Firearms Training
Founded in 2012 by Brad Harbour, Action Firearms Training is a company that trains the average citizen in safety and being prepared for an encounter. Our mission statement is “live to fight another day.” Our goal is to educate and train gun owners so they can live to fight another day. We want to give people the tools not only to know how to properly shoot, but to
also have the mental preparedness for a lethal encounter. A responsible armed citizen is educated, trained, and equipped. Action Firearms provides the education and training to equip you for an encounter. Courses
Enhanced Certification Course
$120, Two-night course, 4 hours in classroom, 4 hours on the range
This course is about safe gun handling and preparing your mind for a confrontation. After this course you will have a clear understanding of gun safety, fundamentals of using your weapon, and will be mentally prepared to survive a hostile encounter. Students do not have to have their concealed carry permit to attend this class. We will go over what you need to do to obtain a concealed carry permit in the state of Mississippi and what you will need to do to have that permit enhanced. Upon completion of this course you will have an enhanced certification which allows permit holders to carry concealed in more places than a concealed carry permit alone allows. The first night we will meet in a classroom setting where you will learn about Mississippi concealed carry laws, how to properly hold your firearm, and other fundamental skills you will need to survive a hostile encounter. Textbooks are included in the tuition fee. Students will need to bring their gun(s) and a snack should they so desire. The second night class will be held at an outdoor range where students will qualify on an NRA approved concealed carry course. Students will need to bring hearing and eye protection, at least 150 rounds of ammunition, and their weapon. Basic Ladies Handgun Course
$200, Two-night course, 4 hours in classroom, 4 hours on the range
A basic class designed for ladies only. This class provides hands on instruction to a small class of women. This is the perfect class for women who have never used a firearm. We provide a range of handguns for ladies to practice with, as well as all of the ammunition. Our expert instructors take a one-on-one approach to helping each lady find the gun that suits her best. At the end of this course, each lady will know how to properly handle a gun. She will be comfortable loading, unloading, carrying and shooting a firearm. When the lady leaves this course not only does she have her enhancement for her concealed carry permit, but she also has a good idea of what type of gun fits her before she goes to purchases one. The first night of class is held in a classroom. Textbooks and all material are included in the tuition fee. Ladies are encouraged to bring a snack if they so desire. The second night of class is held at an outdoor range. Ladies are asked to bring hearing and eye protection. Advanced Shooting Class – Level 1
$150, Two-night course, 8 hours on the range
This advanced course covers draw techniques, speed loading and reloading, emergency reloads, malfunctions, and weapon retention (being able to keep someone from taking your gun and using it against you). Students will also compete against each other for the coveted “Top Shooter” award. Participants will learn how to become a moving target while shooting their target with precision and accuracy. At the end of this course, you will be able to quickly draw, reload, recognize and handle malfunctions, hit your target with the first round, and retain your weapon all while on the move. Students should bring their hearing and eye protection, their weapon, and at least 250 rounds of ammunition. Tactical Long Gun Course
$150, Two-night course, 8 hours on the range
This is a refined course for owners of an AR-15, sporting rifle, and/or shot gun. Participants leave with in depth training and knowledge of in-home defense techniques. This includes tactical loading and unloading, transferring from long gun to handgun, and malfunction drills while on the move. Students should bring their hearing and eye protection, their weapon, and at least 100 rounds of long gun ammunition, and 100 rounds of pistol ammunition. Private Instruction
Price based on how many participants and other factors. Private instruction is offered for companies and individuals. Some people don’t want to take a class with other people for several reasons (maybe they’re famous and don’t want to be recognized). We can accommodate. Open Range
$25 per session
If you’ve taken any of our courses, you are invited to practice with us during any of our open range sessions. These are perfect opportunities to hone the skills you’ve learned in class. Certified instructors will be on site to assist with any problems or questions. 15 spots available, must register to attend. Bring your own weapon and ammo. You know the drill. Bring four friends and your tuition for ANY of these courses is FREE.
