Back surgery. A shoulder replacement. Most people would’ve slowed down. Lori did the opposite.

There comes a point when a lot of people start believing the lie that their best years are behind them.

After back surgery and a shoulder replacement, Lori had every reason to think strength training was no longer for her.

But she refused to let her surgeries define what she could do.

Instead of focusing on what she had been through, she focused on what she was still capable of becoming.

Here are 3 quick fixes that can instantly make your deadlift stronger and safer:

✅ Breathe into your bellyBefore you pull, take a deep breath into your stomach and brace your core like someone’s about to punch you. A strong brace = a stronger pull.

✅ Keep your neck neutralLook a few feet in front of you, not at the ceiling. Your spine works best when your head stays in line with the rest of your body.

✅ Push the floor awayGrip the ground with your feet, keep the bar close, and drive through the floor. The closer the bar stays to your body, the stronger you’ll be.
