3/17 – League Dual vs. Hesperia HS
On a hot day at Cerro Coso College, Burros Throwers did well against Hesperia HS in their second league meet of the season. Freshman Alycia Pepper won the discus throw at 93’ 03”. Junior Katey Bailey took fifth place at 81’ 03”. Sophomore Graceyn Cruz landed a 70’ 04” and placed seventh, and sophomore Chloe Williams threw 61’ 07” for eight place. All of these marks were new personal bests for these ladies! In shot put, Alycia placed second in this event with a throw of 27’ 09 ½”. A new personal best for her. Katey captured third place with a new personal best of 27’ 05 ½”. Chloe had finished in seventh place with a mark of 21’ 04 ½”. Graceyn put a 16’ 09 ¼” and placed eighth. Great effort in the ring ladies!
On the boy’s side, Sophomore Aidan Sievers tossed the shot put out to 43’ 05 ½” for third place and a new personal best. Senior Victor Gonzalez threw a 31’ 06” and placed seventh. Sophomore C**ton Shermer put a 33’ 04 ¾” for sixth place. For discus. Aidan threw 118’ 04” and captured fourth place. Victor went 84’ 03 ¼” and finished seventh. C**ton tossed the platter to 109’ 03”, a new PR, and captured sixth place.
The JV boys competed well against the scorpions. Junior Noah Reynolds threw a 35’ 10” to win shot put. An improvement by over two feet from his old personal best. Sophomore Sebastian Santana had a good series of throws and hit a 32’ 06 ¾” for fourth place. A new personal best by over two feet for Sebastian. Sophomore Jayson Haywood finished sixth with 30’ 11”. Sophomore C**t Seymour threw a new personal best of 30’ 08 ¾” and a seventh place finish. Freshman Demarcus Blanton hit positions to throw a personal best for 26’ 08” and he took ninth place. Freshman Garrett Slayton popped a 26’ 05” to take tenth place and a new PR. In the discus throw, Jayson improved his best mark by six feet to win the event with 110’ 00”. Garrett tossed an 86’ 02 ½” for sixth place. Noah placed seventh with 81’ 03”. Sebastian landed an 80’ 00” throw and finished eighth. C**t had a new personal best of 79’ 06” to take ninth place. Demarcus threw a 72’ 03 ½” and finished tenth. Way to challenge your throw in the ring guys!
