Ford's Fitness Fanatics Get fired up for fitness to make a better you. Fitness has been a part of my life in some form all my life. Prior to that, I was doing my own research. Stronger.

It is the one thing in my life that sets me on fire to do better, to be better, and help others to feel better, not just physically, but as a whole person. Helping people change their lives every day in simple small ways gives me my very own “sunshine effect.” I have always had a fascination with the human body, how it moves, how it works from the inside, how to make it run more efficiently. Six y

ears ago, I started my path by going to school for physical fitness and health science. I graduated from that school and had already found work with High Desert Fitness. However, I wanted to take it a bit further and learn physical therapy techniques. I was able to get a job with Ridgecrest Physical Therapy. Working there afforded me an inside view of the way the physical therapy industry works. I found a lot of overlap between physical therapy and physical fitness. What I also found was that we had patients returning, not necessarily because they had stopped practicing their exercises, but that they didn’t know where to go from there or how to progress into physical fitness. My suggestion is the same for anyone that has ever had physical therapy. Take the time, spend a little bit of money, get a personal trainer to get you past the functional level of physical therapy into the physical fitness level of living your best life. After that, you will have the knowledge to be able to work out in a gym and get stronger and healthier. My plan is to go to Loma Linda’s Physical Therapy Assistant Program and then once I am certified, help bridge that gap between physical therapy and physical fitness. I have already been able to help others with my minimal knowledge of physical therapy and my general knowledge of physical fitness. Join me in learning how to make a better you. Healthier. On Fire for Fitness.

Take care of your teeth. Just as an FYI, I do the coconut oil pulling (swishing in your mouth) almost every day. I don't always get a full 20 minutes in, but 10 minutes at the least. I have noticed a big difference in how my mouth feels. I can tell when I don't do it. I have also switched to the nano-hydroxyapetite toothpaste. My mouth definitely smells better than it did and my teeth and gums feel better. Just thought you should know. 😁💪🏼❤️

Tuesday Tip: You all know that water is important to our bodies. Because we live in this insanely hot desert, I thought it very important to let you know how much more important water is to us. Just 2% dehydration can cause some pretty nasty side effects. Don't forget, you can also eat your water. Certain foods have more than just water and can be a valuable asset to your body and your brain. You've got this. 😁💪🏼❤️💦

I remember when this movie first came out. And the ones after just kept getting better. The story behind the original movie is definitely interesting. This IS one of my workout songs. I love it. It keeps me pumped and I feel like I can push through to my goals. Keep pushing. You've got this! 😁💪🏼❤️

Motivation Monday. We tell ourselves we aren't strong enough to lift that heavy thing. Or we aren't smart enough to learn something new and challenging. WE do that. Our bodies and our brains listen to what we tell them.

How many times have you seen an old person perform something absolutely impossible? How many times have you surprised yourself doing something you didn't think you could do?

Now I'm not saying there are zero limitations, but i am saying you should actually give yourself the chance to find out whether or not you can. You've got this! Believe you can and you will. 😁❤️💪🏼

The more you understand how your brain works, the more you can begin to understand yourself. What are your triggers and how they affect you, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Good vs bad. Changing your outlook on something can be as simple as eating a piece of chocolate, holding a baby, or petting an animal. You have the power to change your mind. You are stronger than you think you are. Believe in yourself. Talk to yourself positively. It does change your world. 😁❤️

Our brains are incredible. While it handles so much just for the body, it also has to deal with what goes on outside us. Taking in vast amounts of information and either triggering an already processed routine or dealing with something new and having to figure out how to respond to it. The kicker is when we have something either not working right or malfunctioning and it is able to find a new path to get us to our destination in a new and different way.

So do yourselves a huge favor -
1) Watch how you talk to yourself. Your brain doesn't know the difference between a random thought or an actual person saying something negative to you.
2) Give yourself a break. To F.A.I.L means First Attempt In Learning. NO means Next Opportunity. Give yourself the grace to mess up. It's ok. Just learn from it and get better.
3) Your brain’s job is to keep you safe. Take time for you to reset and repair, recuperate and reinvigorate yourself. That means taking time for you. Whatever it is that brings you peace, calm, and joy, take that moment for yourself, do that thing that makes you happy, reinvent yourself or take yourself back to one so you can find those things that bring you happiness.

You have lived through every single thing you've been through. You are tough. You are resilient. You are bada$$. Have a great day and a fantastic week. 😁💪🏼❤️
