2025 SENIOR!! ๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿ’š

โญ๏ธ BAILEY โญ๏ธ

Bailey is headed to San Luis Obispo for school!

Her favorite cheer memory this year was creating a routine with her co-captain and performing it at Nationals!

Bailey is inspired the most by her mother. She has shown her how to keep pushing despite who is or isn't there for you.

Some advice for next year!
Put yourself out there as much as you can. You don't want to look back and wish you did things differently. Take every risk you can!

Bailey, congratulations!! We are so proud of you, and love you lots! ๐Ÿ’š

2025 SENIOR!

โญ๏ธ MACKENZY โญ๏ธ

After graduation, Mackenzy is headed to Washington State University where she will study in the nursing field. She hopes to become an ER nurse.
While in school, she plans to work as an EMT and has also accepted a position as a USA cheer staff instructor! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ“ฃ

Her favorite cheer memory was going to the Nationals competition this past year, she loved when the team would hang out in each other's hotel rooms, having the best time together!

Her biggest inspiration is her mom...the one who has kept her going while everything else knocked her down. ๐Ÿฉท

Some wise words for next year's seniors:

Don't worry about others and their actions because you can only control yours! Always become better than you were yesterday, even if you're already the best!

Congratulations Mackenzy!!
You will be missed on this team, we love you so much! ๐Ÿ’š

2025 SENIOR! ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŽ“

โญ๏ธ KENDALL โญ๏ธ

Kendall plans on going to Cerro Coso, and then eventually making her way into dermatology!

Her favorite cheer memory will be going to Nationals this last year and experiencing the big stage.

Kendall is inspired the most by her mom, who has supported her through everything. She is also going to miss all the girls she spent her cheer journey with! ๐Ÿ“ฃ

Advice for next year:
Take the time to appreciate the little things and make every moment special.

So proud of you Kendall!! You are so loved by your team and coaches!! Congrats ๐Ÿฉท

2025 SENIOR ๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿ’š

โญ๏ธ CATE โญ๏ธ

Cate will be attending CSU Channel Islands this fall where she will major in business finance. Cate loves cheer because she gets to hang out with her best friends every day, and her favorite memory will be when Madison B accidentally cut her head open with a game sign ๐Ÿ˜‚ (thankfully she was ok!)

Cate's inspiration in life is her mom ๐Ÿ’—
She always keeps Cate going, and is forever the strongest person Cate knows.

Here's some advice from Cate for the girls next year!
Soak up every moment.
It goes by so fast.
Say yes to everything.
The plans you make today are the memories you have forever!

Congrats Cate! You are so loved, and we are excited to watch you on your next journey! ๐Ÿฉท

๐ŸŽ“ 2025 GRADUATE! ๐ŸŽ“

โญ๏ธ Lillian โญ๏ธ

Lilly is going to attend Cerro Coso this fall and then will be transferring to UC San Diego to major in science!
One of her favorite cheer memories is pomming yards around our community!
Here's some advice from Lilly for next year's seniors:
It's your last year, so make it your best! Keep your head held high, you'll remember this forever.

Best of luck to our amazing Lillian!
We love you so much & are excited to see what your great future holds! ๐Ÿฉท

Celebrating our 2025 GRADUATES!!!
๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ“ฃ

โญ๏ธ SAMANTHA โญ๏ธ

Samantha plans on attending Cerro Coso and wants to go to beauty school! Her favorite BHS cheer memory was when she, a few other cheer girls, and their coaches all went to dinner after a competition. It was so much fun and it made Samantha remember what the whole point of cheer was! She would like to thank her parents and her boyfriend for always supporting her passions and dreams.

She would like to pass on a few words of wisdom to the cheerleaders that will follow after her...

Savor every "last" moment, it goes by quick.
Do everything while you can and remember
that the memories you make will stay
with you forever! โค๏ธ

Congratulations sweet Samantha, we love you and you will be soooo missed!!! ๐Ÿค

2025 USA Spirit Nationals โค๏ธ

This team just made Burroughs High School history. They are the first cheer team at BHS to ever compete at this level.
Please join me in congratulating these girls for the hard work and dedication needed to make this event happen.

They put in long hours.
They had lots of injuries.
Many frustrations and lots of
changes along the way.
They made it though.
They danced, they stunted, and they cheered their little hearts out.

I'm being biased here, obviously, but I do think this team has the CUTEST smiles and BEST spirit around!

Between the two divisions they performed in, they competed against over 30 other high school teams. There were over 500 teams competing over the entire weekend.

This was the BIG TIME SHOW.
And your local cheerleaders were there to represent this great community of Ridgecrest.

They performed so well, and almost, sooooo close to almost, made the cut for a placement...
However, we are no less proud of how far these young ladies have come.

Our little high school team barely entered the competition world 2 years ago. It has been a long road of learning how these events work and how to create routines that score high points.

This is just the beginning.
Thank you girls for setting a foundation for the years to come, it is a building block for all the young cheerleaders in our community!

Also, a HUGE THANK YOU to our local business sponsors, your generous donations allowed for this to happen!

Here's to you BHS Cheer, and to all of the teams after you that follow in your footsteps.

Long Live ๐Ÿ’š

BHS cheer competed this weekend.
Not our best performance.

However, I wanted to share some of the behind the scenes with our followers, the parts of this team that are not usually captured on camera.

Before we competed, before every event or competition, these girls circle up as a team and pray over their day. They ask for courage, strength, safety, and the ability to work through hardship as a team.
It is beautiful to watch these girls come together like this! And sometimes, you'll catch them in small groups, praying together on the side (I did get that picture!)

Given the results of our performance, I believe these girls were given true strength and the courage to stand tall as a team, despite the score sheet.

Another amazing scene that happened on this day was the incredible support of our parents! After we competed, some tears were shed, and the girls were pretty bummed. As we walked through the gym with our heads down, we suddenly heard a loud applause and cheers from the crowd...it was our parent section. One of the girls said to me- why are they cheering for us, we did so bad??!
I thought for a moment, and said, it's because they love you and have your back no matter what you do, win or lose.
It gave me a deep sense of joy as I watched these girls lift their heads and know their worth as their parents uplifted and encouraged them with just a few claps of their hands.

And lastly, the rides home. These girls are exhausted and we have a 3 hour drive home. After getting some food, we make the long trek home. Many of them fall asleep, some though, stay awake. I love this part, because it's when relationships are built between the athletes and their coaches. I am always grateful for the talks we have, the laughs we have, and the memories that are made on the way home.

Just wanted to take a moment and thank our parents, families, and coaches for always displaying an immense outpouring of love to our girls!
This is what it's all about...teaching these kids how to lose and still stand up and walk proud.
This is what success is.
Thank you!! ๐Ÿ’š

Stay tuned...we'll be back at it again in February.
On the road to nationals!
