Using small changes to create large achievements. 🌙

For a lot of people, finding a sense of achievement can feel very complex. This is probably because achievement is linked to accomplishing something large and praiseworthy! The problem with that is what one person considers an achievement, might mean nothing to the next person! Your own perception of success is what’s most important because achievement can come in any size or any form! It’s important to remember that using smaller achievements is what creates the framework for larger ones! Most importantly, it helps you understand the process of change! Starting with more manageable accomplishments can help build a sense of confidence, which will give you the desire to take on largest tasks! As we approach the New Year, just remember not to overwhelm yourself and use small changes to create large achievements towards your health and fitness!

Nutrition can affect what macronutrients we use during our workout!

Eating carbohydrates around the time of your exercise session is important for energy regeneration. If you're doing long exercise sessions or if you're trying to gain mass, taking in carbohydrates during training can help keep your energy level up. That way, your body won't turn to stored nutrition.

Not everyone can workout everyday or spend hours at the gym! There are some days when you don’t even have ten minutes to yourself! Whether you are a new mom or someone struggling mentally or physically, we want to help! We are going to keep it as real as possible, and we hope you follow along! 🌙

Every day is different — one morning, you can wake up with all the energy in the world and effortlessly get that workout done, get the house clean, while never losing your temper with the kids! The very next day, you could wake up late and start the morning with everyone yelling! The house might be a mess, and you didn’t get your workout done because you just wanted to lay in the bed and have that alone time you’ve so desperately been craving! You can’t beat yourself up— you did your best, and that’s all that matters. The only way to stay consistent is to know that some days, you’re going to kill it, and some days, you just have to do your best! It’s not always about getting everything on the to-do list done!

How do we stay motivated as moms? I’ll be honest, it’s not easy. Even with our passion for health and fitness, there are days where the last thing we want to do is workout. It might be because the kids kept you up all night or you haven’t had a minute of alone time and the last thing you want is to spend your time working out. Maybe the house is a mess and you want to use that last bit of energy to clean or to make dinner! Being a mom is mentally and physically draining which is why your health and fitness should stay a priority. My sister and I are incredibly lucky to have each other as constant motivators. We realize some women don’t have that and that’s exactly why we decided to start this business!

✨Morgan's Battle with Postpartum Depression and Finding Fitness (1/2)✨

I was 25 when I had my first baby girl - I was so excited and couldn’t believe we were having this baby that we had dreamed about for so long. Giving birth to her was a life changing experience and she was absolutely perfect!

The excitement faded the moment they put me in the wheelchair and placed her in my arms to go home. I felt this darkness come over me and having not even left the hospital yet, I immediately started crying. This was supposed to be one of the happiest moments of my life, right? I didn't even want the nurses to see me crying in fear of judgement. I remember looking at my mom wanting to scream "Please, help me! I can’t do this!"

Once home, things only seemed to get harder. My daughter ended up becoming pretty sick and she spent most days and nights vomiting or screaming. One doctor visit after another and no one had answers for us. One day in particular I remember listening to her scream from the other room and feeling so disconnected. I sat there crying with her, unable to even pick her up because I knew I couldn't fix what was wrong. As a mother, that’s incredibly hard to admit.”

✨Morgan's Battle with Postpartum Depression and Finding Fitness (2/2)✨

Doctors tried to put me on medication for my postpartum depression, but I've had bad experiences with antidepressants in the past and at this point was more scared of the medication than I was the depression. So, they encouraged me to stay focused on my diet and exercise. I had always been passionate about fitness and was a personal trainer before giving birth. I worked out my entire pregnancy and after giving birth I stopped completely. I wasn't training. I couldn’t eat. I didn’t recognize myself! That day I decided to completely commit to finding my love for health and fitness again and I told myself if that didn’t work, I would agree to take the medication. Thank God for my incredible husband. I couldn’t imagine going through that time without him.

I’m so grateful that after changing my diet and working hard on my fitness routine, I was slowly able to pull myself out of my postpartum depression and find myself again. I have two beautiful, healthy girls now, I’m the happiest I’ve ever been and I'm a damn good mom. If I can help just one woman out there who is battling postpartum depression or struggling to love herself again to truly believe that she is capable of anything, that’s all that matters to me!”
