In Kettlebell Sport (Girevoy Sport), your "FTP" is essentially your Maximum Sustainable Pacing (Repetitions Per Minute or RPM) over a standard 10-minute competition window with only one hand switch.
For the Single Arm Sn**ch, finding this threshold ensures you maximize your score without tearing your hands or burning out your grip prematurely.
We utilize various progressions over the course of 6 weeks to 6 months in order to build these energy systems.
Tips for an Accurate Sn**ch Assessment
Fixation Rules: Only count repetitions that achieve perfect lockout at the top—knees locked, hips open, and the bell completely motionless momentarily.
Tame the Arc: Keep the kettlebell close to your body on the ascent and descent. Excessive casting out wastes energy, spikes your heart rate, and causes the bell to smash your forearm.
Relax the Grip: Utilize the overhead lockout position to relax your hand, insert your palm deeply, and breathe. Transition to a loose hook grip on the drop to preserve your forearms for the later minutes.
Symmetry Focus: Track reps per arm individually. True mastery and maximum efficiency are indicated when your left and right arm scores are nearly identical.
