Sunshine Farmstead We custom grow gourmet and specialty items, teach homesteading/self sufficiency workshops, and practice organic permaculture & polyculture farming methods.

We are a small family farmstead, located in the foothills of a Appalachia, Kentucky. We strive for sustainability, doing things as natural as possible, using non-GMO old time seeds, preserving heritage breeds, and slowing down our food and life.

Our family here at the farm will be walking our 6 pack of dogs 30 miles for the November fundraiser by the American Cancer Society. Updates from our crew will be regular and include the newest member of the pack, a blue eyed, red merle, Corgi x Aussie puppy!

This is rare here, but a young Shetland/Jacob's ewe, rejected her baby lamb. Our livestock guardian dog Boris, cleaned her up, kept her safe and warm, until we found her in the morning. Now we have a house sheep! She's strong and thinks our blue heeler, Mason, is her mommy!
