U-TURN Tennis Training in Richmond, VA focuses on specific skill development at every level: Handling the Racket (Grips), Ready Position and Basic Footwork, Scoring and Rules, Forehand and Backhand (Drive, Topspin, Slice), Serve (Flat, Slice, Kick), Return of Serve, Volleys, Overheads, Lobs, Match Tactics and Tips, Doubles. U-TURN Sports Performance Academy is a sports institute. Classes are full

quarters in length (3 months / 12 weeks). Our quarter system follows the structure below, however you may join a class at any time of year:

- Fall: September to December

- Winter: December to February

- Spring: March to May

- Summer: June to August

Athletes must go through a skills evaluation to determine their program level. There are 3 levels in the Tennis program: Basic Training, Next Level Training and High Performance Training. Training:
Basic Training: Never played tennis but want too? Our Basic class is for beginners and the newly interested! It is filled with movement and fun all while learning the game of tennis! They learn everything from groundstrokes, to volleys and lines! Monday/Wednesday 5:30-6:30, $10.00 per session. Next Level Training: This class is for someone who has played (group lessons, privates, league) for 1-2 years, is looking to take their game to the next level and is interested in playing on a higher level league, starting tournaments or making the school team. This class involves 45 minutes in our weight room with our strength & conditioning team, then an hour on the court working on sports specific skills. Monday/Wednesday 5:40-8:00pm, $22.50 per session. Specifics: - Placement introduced

High Performance: This is the highest level of our classes, designed for the more experienced tennis player (3-4 years). This class is for someone who has made a team but wants to improve where they stand, wants to increase their tournament ranking or has a goal to play in college. The HPT class gets an hour in the weight room with the strength team and an hour and 15 minutes on the court to work on sports specific skills! Monday/Wednesdays 6:40-9:15, $25.00 per session. Specifics: - Emphasis on Placement
- Emphasis on Strategy and the ability to use: - strategy during a point/match play
-Execution of Specialty shots -Execution of angles during match play.
- Continued emphasis on Consistency
- Continued emphasis on specialty shots:
-approach shot -Drop shot

-Inside out shot -Overhead

Privates: Need to work on your forehand in specific or just can’t get the serve? Then sign up for a private to get the individual attention you are seeking! An individual spends an hour with the coach working on specific sports skills needs. Privates are designed around the player and the players needs. Privates are scheduled by appointment only and through Coach Jenna ([email protected]) $40.00 per private, Privates comes in packages of 4. Semi Private: Two individuals of the same skill level spend an hour with the coach working on specific sports skills needs. Semi-privates are scheduled by appointment only and through Coach Jenna ([email protected]) $22.50 per individual. Semi-Privates come in packages of 4.
