This isn’t the end…
While it is true that Chick-fil-A won’t have a Conference USSSA Team in 2024, it doesn’t mean it is the end. In the many years that we have had a team, we have formed as a family some friendships and bonds that will indeed last the rest of most of our lives. We all stood on that field in the Empty Space Coast Stadium as our Major World Series concluded, not really wanting to leave. It seemed like an hour that we were there, (most likely not quite that long) reminiscing about our season, and previous seasons and all of the life and fun that we had together, and it wasn’t as sad as one might think because we knew we would all still share life together, even if we all weren’t playing on the same team in 2024. These men and their families from this past year and all of the previous years for that matter, mean the world to me personally and they provided myself and each other the necessary escape that we all needed, as we used softball to forget, if just for a brief moment, the stresses of everyday life. I love these guys and all of the life long friends I have made and have had the privilege of calling my teammates with Chick-fil-A. I’m not going to try and tag folks because I will inevitably forget someone, but if you have ever worn the Chick-fil-A uniform, I say Thank You! I have so many memories that make me smile and I am hopeful to continue making memories with some of these guys pictured, and some new folks in the future as well. I will be rooting for all of our Chick-fil-A Alumni players this year not just in softball, but in LIFE. Again, this is not the end, but simply a message of appreciation to all of you who have given me more than I could have ever possibly given you.
