That’ll do it, friends! What an incredible season! 114 kiddos came through my doors this year! 108 of them gained aquatic problem solving skills, and graduated. This baby and I did it together. I found out I was pregnant 3 weeks into my first session in the beginning of February, and now I will be able to enjoy postpartum and off season with this little nugget in as little as 3-6 Weeks from now! So fun. Thank you Richmond ISR families for your love, patience, support, and trust in the process you have had this year! You are all a gift to me!

Happy floatin’ Friday! This cutie rocked her check out procedures this week! Most of my fishies will graduate 🎓 next week and then I’ll be off until spring! đŸ€°đŸ»so thankful for the incredible swim season I’ve had with so many sweet families, and kiddos!

📣📣📣THIS JUST IN: MORE PRIVATE 1-1 SWIM LESSONS WERE JUST ADDED for 2023 to accommodate our growing community! Our next and last ISR survival swim class for babies to 6 year olds begins September 11th! Studies show retention rates for these lessons are extremely high, so just because summer is over doesn’t mean you should wait to get your kids the skills they need! We also have availability for our skills program (once, twice, or 3 times a week lessons). DROWNING KNOWS NO SEASON. Slots are limited, so grab one today! What swim instructors wish you would do to prepare your kids for lessons:

Get your kids used to having water on their faces-including their ears.

Use one-on-one touch supervision in the water instead of flotation devices. Avoid puddle jumpers at all costs.

Teach your kids to ask before getting into the water.

Don’t allow them to blow bubbles in the bathtub.

Don’t let them drink bath water.

Don’t tell older kids they are doing this so they don’t drown. They don’t know what that means but they do sense it’s negative and then they form a negative association with lessons.

Don’t let your child lay on their back or “swim” in the bathtub. Bath time is not practice time!

Get your child excited about starting lessons. Frame it positively with them. Watch positive videos and read positive books.

Back from an incredible week of rest and vacation. Check out this circle of floatn’ cousins! Back at it, as I start my last session of the year before I take off for maternity leave! It will be a wonderful 6 weeks with my 30 new fishy students! Happy summer everyone â˜€ïžđŸ•¶ïžđŸ‘™
