Another great practice track in the books for Doug. šŸ•šŸ¦Œ

Weā€™re putting in the work now so weā€™re ready when deer season gets here. Long tracks, tough conditions, and plenty of miles are what build a dependable tracking dog.

Doug keeps getting better with every track. The nose is getting sharper, the confidence is growing, and the teamwork is getting stronger.

The woods wonā€™t give up every deer easily. Weā€™ll be ready to go to work when the time comes.

Deer season is right around the cornerā€”our favorite time of the year!

We are UBT2 Certified and love helping hunters recover their deer. We had a great season last year, and everything points to an even better one this season.

There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the smile on a hunterā€™s face when their game is recovered. If you find yourself needing help locating your deer this season, weā€™re here for you.

The biggest thing we ask is that you remember your wait times after the shot. Giving a deer the proper amount of time before tracking greatly increases the chances of a successful recovery and helps us provide the best possible outcome.

Good luck to everyone this deer season! Hunt safely, and keep our number handyā€”you never know when you might need us.

Another great practice track for Doug today after a full 24-hour wait in some very warm conditions. Every track reminds me just how far heā€™s come. It seems like only yesterday we started this journey together, and now weā€™re heading into the upcoming season with a lot of confidence.

Doug is ready.

After todayā€™s successful track, he earned one of his favorite rewardsā€”a refreshing swim in a cold, spring-fed creek. Then it was home for a bath, teeth brushed, ears cleaned and treated, followed by a good grooming session. The rest of the afternoon was spent relaxing in the air conditioning, exactly where he deserved to be.

Iā€™m incredibly proud of this dog and the work heā€™s put in. We canā€™t wait to help hunters recover their deer this season.

Good newsā€”Doug has spent the entire year getting ready for the upcoming deer season, and heā€™s more than ready to go.

We do have a temporary setback at a good time of year. Doug recently had a neutering procedure and is now in recovery. Weā€™ll give him the time he needs to heal properly, then ease back into some memory and practice tracks to sharpen him up for the start of deer season.

Heā€™s come a long way since last season, and I couldnā€™t be more proud of the progress heā€™s made. Iā€™m really looking forward to getting him back out there doing what he does best.

Deer season will be here before you know it. We have not stopped practicing just because last season is over. We will be better than ever and well prepared if you need us this coming season.

We havenā€™t been posting many of our practice tracks lately, but weā€™ve still been putting in plenty of work behind the scenes.

Weā€™ve been zeroing in on known problem areas, setting up situations where Doug has to figure things out on his own, and working on patience while learning to read him better.

To avoid putting him in more tick-heavy timber than necessary, weā€™ve mixed things up with short fields, water, taller grass, light timber, back tracks, and skip tracks. Weā€™ve also been aging a lot of the tracks a bit so the sun can work on them before we run them.

Heā€™s continuing to improve, though some sessions still challenge himā€”which is exactly what we want to see.

Really excited for the upcoming season.
