What great can I say about all of the great teams and people of Missouri Blood Trackers that everyone doesn’t already know? All we can say is as usual, just a great group of teams and individuals that go beyond to help you in anyway possible. Always willing to share their experiences and knowledge with you. Thank you again. Doug says to give a special thank you as well.

I would like to extend my gratitude to everyone involved in our practice training day at Busch Wildlife yesterday. It is clear that considerable time, thought, and effort were invested in setting up the training layout. The day provided an excellent opportunity to learn from some of the best in the field. Thank you again for permitting Doug and me to attend and benefit from your expertise. Once more, Missouri Blood Trackers made us feel welcome and at home. Furthermore, it was a pleasure to collaborate with participants from neighboring states who generously shared their knowledge.

We miss Bill every single day. He wasn’t just a companion—he was family, a heart that touched ours in ways words can barely hold. Though his time with us was far too short, the mark he left is eternal.

Every track we ran this year, every quiet moment, Bill was there with us. We could feel him—his spirit moving beside us, his presence woven into our lives, his essence in every memory.

Bill brought Doug into our lives, a gift we wouldn’t have without him. In a perfect world, we would have both of them here, filling our days with their love, their joy, their unmistakable selves.

Even now, I feel Bill’s gentle presence. He walks with us, still doing his Bill things, reminding us that love never leaves us, that those who touch our hearts remain forever. His spirit is with us—always beside us, always part of us.

We want to take a moment to sincerely thank each and every one of you who called on us to track for you this season. It was truly a pleasure to help so many hunters work toward a successful outcome.

Whether we were able to recover your deer or not, we appreciate the trust you placed in us. We are especially grateful to those of you who later shared confirmation that your deer survived after our track—knowing that an animal lived on for another opportunity is just as meaningful to us.

Every track we ran this season provided invaluable experience and knowledge, and along the way, we feel we made many new friends. Our hope is that each of you walked away satisfied with our service and the effort we put into every call.

While we hope you won’t need our services in the future, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you do. We would also greatly appreciate you spreading the word to friends who may need us.

We are already practicing and preparing for next season, with the goal of being even better. Thank you again for an incredible season, and please stay safe until we meet again.

Today we got Doug back on practice tracks. He was beside himself. The track was 1320 yards crossing three shallow creeks and two deep dry creeks. We let the track age for 24 hours using 1 hoof and 2 oz of blood. We left a portion of Hyde and the hoof at the find location. Doug on it from the start. It took longer to lay the line than for Doug to find it. I am going to have to work on making it more of a challenge now. I do feel that the tracks we ran for hunters has paid off in a big way as Doug has really gained confidence. The only thing was at the end of the track. Doug seemed a little confused. It was like, where is the deer. He grabbed the hoof and then smelled the Hyde but kept turning his head like he was thinking this can’t be it. I think he is used to finding something much larger and this seemed a little weird to him. Any ideas of things to to when laying a practice track to make it more challenging would be appreciated.

There’s something special about seeing Christmas through Doug’s eyes—pure joy, curiosity, and that quiet understanding that it’s about love, togetherness, and presence. Dogs have a way of cutting through all the noise and reminding us what actually matters. Watching his reactions to the lights and Santa isn’t just cute; it’s grounding.

It really does feel like he gets it—not the decorations or the calendar date, but the warmth, the routine, the people he loves most being together. That kind of perspective is hard to beat this time of year.
