There are so many diets out there. I get questions ALL the time about which fad to follow, etc. etc. Every time I'm faced with these questions it always seems one thing is common amongst all asking and that is STRESS.
STOP stressing about food. Overcomplicating it. Thinking your life as you know it has to stop being fun to eat healthy. Just stop.
Food is as complicated as you make it up to be in your mind. Throw out all the diet books. These people are making millions off of these sales just to confuse you even more or make you feel like your a failure when you don't stick to a strict plan.
Make your food as simple as possible. When you don't have time to prepare, keep some frozen/canned foods on hand like frozen veggies, frozen organics like chicken nuggets, canned tuna in water. Buy easy to throw together items like rotisserie chicken, deli meats and cheeses, pre cut veggies, jerky, fruits, yogurt...
Some easy meals I follow on a weekly basis:
Breakfast-whole wheat toast with pesto and 1 or 2 eggs, 2 hardboiled eggs and fruit, oatmeal, avocado toast sprinkled with everything bagel seasoning.
Snacks-deli meat rolled up with cheese, nuts, fruit, small portions of last night's dinner, banana with peanut butter, hummus and carrots
Lunch- rotisserie chicken on salad with vinegarette, hollowed out and baked zucchini with tuna salad and melted cheese on top, open faced sandwiches, lettuce wraps with rotisserie chicken, shredded carrots, coconut aminos
Dinner-taco salad without the shell, wheat tortilla pizza baked just like a regular pizza, ground turkey and cooked broccoli in a bowl with cheese and cauliflower rice, eggplant parmesan
Dessert- chocolate dipped bananas, yogurt dipped berries, strawberries with whipped cream
The possibilities for quick fix healthy meals is endless. Stay simple and ignore all the bu****it about how hard food has to be. ππ
