Starting Thursday, September 1st, I will be teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Filipino martial arts at Fields Recreation Center (1701 Dairy Rd, Garland, TX). I am proud to be an official affiliate with John Machado Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy! Professor John D. Machado is an incredible martial artist, a great instructor, and an inspirational human being. I am excited to share what I have learned with the citizens of Garland! If you know anyone that is looking for a safe place for their children or themselves to learn world class self defense skills, please send them my way.

Congrats to Jason Mefford on an excellent performance today at the Tap Out Cancer BJJ Open tournament! He won all 3 matches on his way to an 18-0 victory in the finals!

Never forget that training is not about winning - it’s about skill development. Don’t worry about winning today - worry about building the skills that will enable you to win somewhere out in the future in a match that counts. The gym is the time for innovation and experimentation and development - save your concern for winning and losing for competition
