This was definitely a weekend to remember. The dust has finally settled after the 2025 Southern Region Oireachtas, and wow… we have so much to be thankful for.
We had three soloists competing for the very first time, and they were absolutely wonderful. We debuted two new teams with great success, and we even brought home an Oireachtas Champion! I couldn’t be prouder of these dancers — they gave their all the entire weekend and showed exactly what they’re made of.
Out of our 15 dancers, 11 recalled or placed, with five placing in the top ten, three world qualifying, and three reaching personal bests. Two of our teams recalled as well, with one breaking into the top ten. No matter the placement, everyone showed real growth and improvement, and that’s what makes my heart swell the most. 🧡✨🩷
I’m not just proud — I’m incredibly thankful. Thankful for the dancers and dance families who were at Oireachtas, and thankful for those back home in Dallas. This has been a very difficult time for my family, and having the school step up when I couldn’t be there meant everything. Your support and determination allowed me to be where I truly needed to be, giving me priceless time with my loved ones. I’ll never be able to thank you enough.
It is truly my honor to lead this amazing group of dancers and families. To everyone at The McLane School — thank you, from the bottom of my heart. 🫶💫
