Time flies when you are having fun-sixty years ago today my bride and I started a journey of a lifetime. Not long after that start we learned how to ski, became charter members of the local ski club, started a family, discovered a whole bunch of new places, decided rebuilding a ski area in northern Wisconsin might be fun plus that would be a great way to save on lift tickets. Hope a lot of you have an equally fun journey....but dont buy a ski area to save on lift tickets

What a wild ride 2026 inflation is turning out to be BUT even though we are progressing with many projects we are mindful of keeping fun family skiing affordable for all. Additionally we want everyone to know that our plan is to be running an additional ski lift this winter increasing our need for employees in lift operations and inside service's.

Numbers are starting to come in on getting our Red T Bar back up and running (in case you didn't know a lighting strike last fall resulted in our drive terminal building fire). Looks like it is all fixable and will move up on the priority agenda when we have rebuilt our season passholder base back to normal as thats the source of funding. In the meantime the team is making progress on a number of other things that our customers will be pleased with. And lift wise it looks like our double chairlift, west side T Bar, and rope tow. Lots going on.

Just to give you a flavor of what some other ski areas are doing with their season pass sales- (this one is a 7 day a week operation where we are only on weekends plus Christmas week) 12 and under $395 13-61 $495 Camp 10 Ski Area 10 and under $100 (with a parent purchase) over 10 is $219. Not sure if we will still have the high gasoline prices this winter but that could effect a lot of decisions. We are constantly looking at ways to hold costs down and move forward with our continuous improvement programs. A recent tiny example was in our food service area...the County wanted to move us from a "Simple" food prep license to "moderate" category with an additional $100 fee. In order to keep the "Simple" designation and save $100 we would have to purchase precooked hamburgers at a much higher price and, in our opinion not as good a quality. Doing that would mean we would have to raise the prices of our burgers about a $1.50. So no, thats not the way to save a $100....we've agreed to the County's designation change to "moderate" and we'll keep making those super good burgers the way we always have.

Then on the other hand we could talk about how to fund the groomer improvement budget and the $30,000 (approx) for some major stuff on one of our T Bar ski lifts. Never a dull moment.

Geez in maybe less than six months we'll be making snow again

The Camp 10 Ski Patrol kick off meeting of new ski patrol candidates went very well. We worked through the Q & A to everyone's satisfaction , completed the sign ups, passed out the course reference materials and covered four key areas of course materials. Reed then gave them a good tour of the ski patrol building and rescue/trauma equipment....looks like we've got another group of excellent candidates in the works.
