We had the absolute pleasure of training this morning with Sensei El Java Abdul Qadir, Head Tatami Coach for WAKO USA! 🇺🇸🥊

Having the opportunity to learn from someone with his knowledge and experience this close to Worlds is incredibly valuable for our athletes.

A huge thank you as well to Ibrahim Abdul Qadir, Tyreik Saint, and Tre Brown for spending the morning training, sharing, and giving feedback. Your input, experience, and willingness to help our team prepare means a ton to us.

Man, Tuesday of Fair Week sure feels like a Thursday night to us! 🥊🔥

Great work tonight, everyone! The energy was high, the mats were packed, and as always, it’s a pleasure having guests come in to train with us.

Huge congratulations to Natalie and Ellie, who got married today! 🥂💍❤️

This one was extra special for The Lab family. Natalie and Ellie have both been students of Master O since 2021, and when it came time to choose the person who would officiate their wedding, they asked him to be part of their big day.

Which means we can now officially add a new title to the résumé:

Master O’fficiant 😂👏

And because apparently we can’t have a Lab wedding without a little martial arts involved, Mr. Shawn Shutter came out and ran a karate class for everyone during cocktail hour! 🥋😂

Martial arts has always been about more than what happens on the mats. It’s about the relationships, friendships, and family we build along the way—and today was a pretty awesome example of that.

Congratulations, Natalie and Ellie! Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness, adventures, and an incredible future together! ❤️🥂

A kid receiving a medal.

What they don’t see:
The dedication.
The sacrifice.
The personal challenges.
The early mornings.
The late nights.
The hours and hours of training.

They don’t see the days when motivation was low, but they showed up anyway.
The moments of frustration.
The setbacks.
The lessons.
The growth.

The medal is something to be proud of, but the medal was never the goal.

It’s a marker along a much bigger path.

A path toward more confidence.
More discipline.
More resilience.
More belief in yourself.

The real achievement is who you become along the way.
