After celebrating my mother this weekend, I was offered a lot of wisdom and advice about grief and how to move forward, but this one struck me.
We spend so much of our lives trying to avoid grief and uncomfortable feelings. What if that grief and those feelings were actually your greatest teachers?
And what if that grief is the reminder of how much love there was between you and the person you have lost. It’s our body’s way of processing and remembering.
Don’t avoid it. Lean into it. Let it out. And remember, while your grief is personal to you, it may not look like anyone else’s. And you never have to go through it alone.
