We teach Moojung Gumdo, a classic Korean martial art similar to Kendo. All ages 10 and up are welcome. If you have been looking for Karate in Columbus, consider this alternative. We remain a family oriented martial art school. Kids from ages 10 and up are most of our students. Sometimes, their parents join the fun. Like Taekwondo, Moojung Gumdo is a traditional Korean martial art similar to Kendo

in some respects. We start students with the traditional Jook Do (Bamboo Sword), or training sword and progress from there. Eventually, we learn to use a fully sharpened steel sword for cutting competition. For safety when sparring, we use padded weapons. These allow us to swat our friends or family members without injury. That is the cool part. Any stress or tension goes away completely. We always laugh and have fun. Note that the hours listed are our class times. The OMAC is open Monday through Saturday. See their website for hours of operation. We require face masks, social distancing, and other precautions to keep our students safe. In addition, our classes are broadcast via Zoom for those not able to attend in person.

Along with martial art training, we learn and grow as human beings.

Your first trial lesson is no charge. Our youngest students start at age 10. Some students adapt their performance despite physical and other limitations. We accept anyone, regardless of age or physical condition.

For advanced students, we practice skills such as cutting tatami mats and other materials with a steel katana. Our students earn their share of awards in martial art competition events.
