Student Spotlight Saturday! 🥋
Meet Jared!
Jared is a junior majoring in History with plans to go into academia someday. He’s been married for 4 years and spends his free time with his blue heeler, Aspen.
Jared has been practicing karate since he was 8 years old and currently holds a black belt in Goshin Karate, a brown belt in Goju-Ryu Karate, a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and a newly green belt in judo. He’s trained in Jiu-Jitsu for about 7 years and judo for 4 years, while also serving as one of our karate instructors at Mamoru Martial Arts.
For Jared, martial arts is more than competition — it’s a creative outlet and a way to explore history, movement, and new ideas. He loves the welcoming atmosphere at Mamoru and the freedom to experiment, learn, and have fun while training. 🔥

Student Spotlight Saturday! 🥋
Meet Jett!
Jett is a junior studying Mechanical Engineering, newly married of 9 months, and proud dog dad to Chewy. He earned his black belt in Tae Kwon Do at 13, wrestled through high school, and now trains as a brown belt in judo and blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
After 3 years of judo training, Jett competed at the 2025 Intermountain West Judo Championship 2025 where he earned:
🥇 Gold in the Novice Green Belt & Under division by throw
🥈 Silver in the Advanced division
One of Jett’s favorite things about Mamoru Martial Arts is the welcoming environment and variety of training. Whether you come from wrestling, another martial art, or have no experience at all — there’s a place for everyone here. 🔥

Meet Cyrus!
Cyrus is 23 years old, recently married, and currently a junior in college studying social work. His goal is to become a marriage and family counselor so he can help make a positive impact in people’s lives.
He has been training at Mamoru Martial Arts for 2 years and currently holds a Green Belt in Judo and a Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Cyrus also values the welcoming atmosphere at Mamoru and the opportunity students have to learn from and teach one another, no matter their background or experience level.

Our middle-level judo class was a little smaller today, which meant extra personalized coaching, focused instruction, and more one-on-one time helping each student sharpen their skills.
Start them young. Watch them grow strong.

Meet Adam!
Adam is 25 years old, a husband of nearly six years and proud father of three beautiful children named Ava, Adley and Andrew.
Adam originally went to trade school and worked as a Ford technician for several years, but has since decided to return to school to pursue nursing where he hopes to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives!
Martial arts has always been a big part of who he is. He wrestled for four years in high school and now trains as a Yellow Belt in Judo and a Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
