On Saturday, August 9, 2014, The Ned Devines Golfing Society held their 1st Pub Challenge at Raspberry Falls Golf & Hunt Club. The format wasA fourball match, which is a competition between teams of two golfers, all four golfers play their own ball throughout the round and each hole is scored by individual golfer on each team that had the lowest score. There were teams from O'Faolains Irish Restaurant & Bar, O'Sullivan's Irish Pub, Mediterranean Breeze Restaurant and the host, Ned Devine's Irish Pub & Sports Bar.

It was a day of great fun, competition and camaraderie. A few drinks were taken also! 28 players played for the about to become legendary “Pub Golf Challenge Trophy” which was won by Glenn Hume and Andy Kalin representing Ned Devines. The trophy will reside at Neds awaiting a team from another pub to take it back to their establishment by winning the next event.

This event was sponsored by Ned Devines, which included a post event celebration of beverages and a nice buffet for all those who came back to congratulate the winners.

We are now looking for another Pub to pick up the gauntlet and plan the next outing, putting their own spin on the day. We are hoping to make this a regular event and to increase the number of participating pubs. So please spread the word and come join the fun!!!!!!

Another Ryder Cup on the books with perfect weather for our new 27-hole format, the USA was victorious with a 26 to 14 victory over the ROTW.Congratulations USA! Wishing a sad farewell to ROTW captain, Dean, who returns to his home "over the pond".
