What’s better than running a Nearly Naked Mile and enjoying a beer afterward, all on a cool November afternoon? The Nearly Naked Mile will take place on November 10 at the Reston Town Center in Reston, VA. The Nearly Naked Mile is presented by the Northern Virginia F.O.O.L.S. and Potomac River Running. The race benefits the Washington Hospital Burn Center. RUN FOR A CAUSE:Help earn money while you
run! The Washington Hospital Burn Center is the Regional Burn Center for the Nations Capitol and surrounding areas! NEARLY NAKED WHILE RACING: We encourage our participants to represent what it means to feel comfortable in one’s own skin, just like the strength that burn victims demonstrate. Running completely naked–though it sounds quite liberating– isn’t an option, but running Nearly Naked is! Wear minimal running attire to warm you while you run in the chilly temperatures! CELEBRATE: At the finish line, runners/walkers will be welcomed by The Northern Virginia Bag Pipers “Pipe.” Each finisher will receive a personal thanks from a Burn survivor and if you’re at least 21 years of age, you will receive a free beer! There will be plenty of food and drinks for all participants and their families. There will also be firefighters from the Burn Foundation displaying both antique and current fire engines. Kids can get a red firefighter hat, too! SWAG: The first 500 registrants will receive commemorative flannel boxer shorts (gender specific sizing) AND a collectible pint glass! Make sure to register now! AWARDS: There will be overall awards and age group awards for each 1 Mile race (see schedule below). There will also be a team competition. Teams can be comprised of an unlimited amount of runners. The first 4 participants of each team scores and a team score must have at least one female and one male. Winners will receive Nearly Naked Mile robes!
