Age Groups U5 thru U19: General Information
What does age group mean? Players are placed by birth date in “U”nder age groups, so for example players in the U7 age group are usually Under 7 years old or recently turned 7 and are usually in the first grade of school. Because the school date ranges for grades are different than the VYSA soccer age ranges, sometimes players with an August or September birthdate prefer to play with their classmates and request to play up. This is generally approved if the player has the ability to do so. Your player is registered based on their birth date. Birth date ranges for age groups are set by the VYSA. If you wish to have your child play up due to school grade, or experience, use the SPECIAL REQUEST field in the Registration and the PLAY UP option to request to move up.
