If you’ve ever doubted the power of belief and positivity just hang with me for a minute..
What you see here is a HAPPY wedding ring wearing man, but 12+ hours prior to this photo, that wasn’t the case AT ALL.
You’ll see our sweaty selfie (with his ring STILL on) we took after knocking out our campground workout in 95° weather. To say we were HOT & SWEATY would be an understatement! Nate couldn’t even wait to stretch and was already putting on his board shorts to cool off in the creek, while I cooled down on the bank above him.
As I sat in my chair watching him I got sidetracked editing our selfie and a few minutes later was startled by a soaked and panicked Nate saying, “PLEASE tell me you have my ring on!!?!”.
*insert pure panic*
No, I didn’t have his ring on, he had never given it to me.
Right then I knew it was gone.
He immediately grabbed a floatie and was back in the water while I sat and pleaded out loud to my Dad who’s on the other side, asking him to please help pull off a miracle.
Nate searched for over an hour and no luck, no ring.
I tried to remind myself it was an accident, but with each hour came more memories that were attached to the ring that was sitting somewhere on the creek bed. I was sad and mad and couldn’t help but think of our upcoming 10 year wedding anniversary.
We finally tried to go to bed, not having much to say to each other and tossing and turning all night. When the sun made an appearance the next morning I knew what he was thinking and I just looked over and said, “it’s all good, you don’t have to look again.”
I knew he was going back in before I could say anything else.
He said, “give me 30 minutes.”
About 15 minutes later I heard movement in the water, but didn’t want to get too excited. I sat in the tent and watched, hoping his body language would give me some good news. I just couldn’t tell.
Before I knew it, my dripping wet man stuck his hand with THE RING in the tent door!
Soaked, sobbing and hugging so hard, I was reminded how important BELIEVING is.
His ring was in the current, 3’ feet down, sitting on top of a big flat rock.
I mean, what are the chances?!
I’m just going to give a BIG thank you to my Dad ❤️
