As a nutritionist, I always recommend blood work. Each person is so beautifully unique and requires a specific plan. There is no one size fits all EVER, so testing is imperative.
I have experimented much with my own nutrition, transitioning from a vegetarian with low HDL which is the cause of much disease, to a high fat omnivore. My bloodwork revealed a good path, with low triglycerides and much better HDL numbers. I would never have known this, had I not been cyclically testing and reassessing. We can only manage what we can first quantify.
Im sharing this because its tempting to follow friends and family in nutritional paths that may be well suited to them, but not for you.
