Celebrating a Decade of ! π₯ βΌοΈ (WHAAAATT?! π€―) So for fun here are 1οΈβ£0οΈβ£ pow Facts for 1οΈβ£0οΈβ£ years of pow β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ
1.) My first official class was Jan 7, 2013. Saturday's class was January 7, 2023.
2.) Bodypow started organically. I did bodyweight exercises at home when the kids were young. People started asking what I was doing to stay fit. I showed a few friends in the corner of an empty basketball court at a local rec center. (I was a fitness instructor before the kids were born) More people started to join. After 6 weeks the rec center said we couldn't meet there anymore. I thought we were done but was encouraged to find a space so we could continue. Bodypow was born.
3.) Our first official class (1/7/2013βΌοΈ) was in the ballet studio where my then 4 yo daughter Chloe was taking classes. (Thank you Lily Baran π©°)
4.) For the majority of years bodypow was held in a Kung Fu dojo. (Thank you Zai Ahmadzai π₯) No shoes, padded floors.
5.) We currently workout at Reno Ice skating rink because of Drew's Hockey. π (Thank you Joanie Malarchuk ) No mirrors and concrete floors but still fun Music πΆ and lots of positive energy. β¨
6.) Bodypow classes are gentler now. π« The focus is more on balance, strength, grace. Love β€οΈ
7.) 400+ bodypow classes were recorded (pre-covid !!) and are available online. π» Raw, unedited, goofy, real. π A filter feature is also included so one can choose their own Personally Optimized Workout adventure and get in all the Pow'er Jumping the heart may desire.
8.) For the majority of the past decade I taught 5οΈβ£ classes a week. One year I got up to 8 classes in a week with a few 2-a-days, Incline and Reno.
9.) Because of all that pow, I was consistently asked if I did bikini competitions. I decided to try. For 3 years I competed π in one show after another and always placed very well. I qualified and competed in NPC bikini Nationals and later earned an NSL Bikini Pro card but I never lifted a weight. Lol
10.) I currently teach 2 relaxed, casual classes a week and am very happy with those 2. π
π£ I am extremely grateful for all of the people whom I've had the opportunity to meet and workout with over the past decade. Thank you to the wonderful group of Very Important POW'ers I get to workout with in person every week and for the SURPRISE celebration cake π from JY on Saturday, VIP of the decade. π
