We are a youth football and cheerleading organization for ages 5-15 (before entering high school). The we are located in the Old Southwest area of Reno, Nevada for youths zoned for Reno High School. outh football and cheer? Youth football and cheer provides the opportunity for your child to learn teamwork and perseverance in the realm of a youth football and cheerleading. All Camps represent their local, high school team. They wear the same colors and practice near or at, your high school and games are played at Reno/Sparks and outlying high schools. Youth football and cheer provides everyone the opportunity to form lasting friendship with the players, coaches, families and their local high school. We form strong bonds with our local schools and community. This will help keep our kids in school! BENEFITS OF Youth Football

*It gives your child the opportunity to play on or cheer for a team named after their local high school team, wear the same colors and play and cheer on the high school fields.

*Teams are formed based on age.

*There are no tryouts. Everyone plays and cheers.

***Your child's safety is our priority!!!***

-All coaches are trained in "Heads Up," a program created by the CDC (Center for Disease Control), to identify and prevent concussions in our youth players.

-Helmet to helmet, intentional contact, is not permitted.

-Players are grouped by age and have limitations in play based on weight.

*Each player is guaranteed to play with strict, mandatory play counts.

*Good academic performance is encouraged and required. Grade checks are performed.

*Pop Warner offers the Little Scholar program which recognizes student athletes for excellent academic performance.

*Many coaches have excellent experience. Some are teachers and coaches at our local schools.

*Background checks on all volunteers who interact with your children, are performed.

*Participants are led by good role models who stress the importance of education and being responsible, respectful and contributing members of their community. CONVENIENCE

*Practices for Reno Huskies youth football are held at Swope Middle School and Reno High School. ALL camps practice near or at, your locally zoned high school.

*Games are on Saturdays only.

*Pop Warner provides all equipment needed to play except cleats and a cleat exchange is encouraged every year. Coaches can help facilitate for those in need. MORE INFORMATION

*Registration begins in February and continues until just before season begins.

*Payment plans and financial aid are available.

*Sibling discounts are provided.

*A football camp is often held at Reno High School at the end of July, led by Reno High School Football players, for a nominal cost. Following camp begins season practices and normal season games. We hope you consider joining youth football and cheer or coming back as a returning player or cheerleader. We truly are a great family! GO HUSKIES!

The Pop Warner season is approaching soon and we still need officials. Why not give back to the game you love and get paid to do so?Pop Warner games pay $65 on site and you get to help kids! The decorum and sportsmanship has gotten much better the last few years and coaches and officials are working together to give players a positive experience. Older officials are retiring and younger officials are needed. You are in demand and now is a great time to join and advance. The Officials classroom training clinic is Sunday August 21st in Reno. The Pop Warner Jamboree is Saturday August 28th and because it is scrimmages it is the perfect place to start, and you get paid for it! Welcome to the new Reno Sparks Pop Warner Season!
As we get started, there are a few tips/rules to remember:
1. HAVE LOTS OF WATER FOR YOUR KID, PLEASE. It is very hot and they need hydration.
2. Please remind your athletes to pick up after themselves at any practice field or game field. It is a privilege to use the fields and we don’t want to lose that.
3. Just a reminder no metal cleats.
4. If purchasing your player’s mouthpiece, Pop Warner rules are they have to have a strap and always be attached to your child’s helmet at all times or your child will not be able to play.
5. We are not allowed to have any PETS at any of our Pop Warner events so please keep them at home!
6. If you are missing any gear, please let your team business manager know.
