Trail day for future part of the Flume Race course this Sunday. Come help out and never have to push your bike up that hot and dusty road again.

New Trail Alert! The Red House Flume extension to connect to the Sunflower Hill Trail is getting roughed in thanks to a grant from REI. Volunteer day this Sunday(9/10) meeting at the Lakeview Gate, 4500 Hobart Road, Carson City at 8:30am. Bring a lunch or a bike if you need to ride out early. Also this Saturday, trail days on the Angora project in South Lake and Ocelot reroute in Tahoe City. Many hands make light work; let's get these trails connected and open to ride!

Please take 5 minutes to voice your opinion if you ride out of Spooner Lake or have ever done the Great Tahoe Flume Race. If you are tired of bikes not having any singletrack connections to the backcountry trails out of Spooner, perhaps you could let your feelings be known on question 9 with a clarification for singletrack bike access in the comments section. We also think some bike-in or ride-in campsites at Spooner would be rad.

Presidential candidate and avid mountain biker Gary Johnson announced he would be doing the Great Tahoe Flume Race this Sunday. Not to be outdone, and flip-flopping over his previous pledge to never be caught doing a bike race, Donald Trump also signed up. "It's a beautiful view, let me tell you, in fact it's the greatest view ever, probably because I'm in it. If you'll let me win the race, you'll see how great the view is too. Believe me". We checked in with Hillary Clinton to see if she would join the challenge, but unfortunately she misplaced the email with the reg info. Here's a pic from Nathan Powell, one of our racers out pre-riding the course today. Yeah, it's like this. I'm not super religious but it was zen-like out marking the course this evening. Reg opens at 7:30ish, closes at 9:20. Race start at 9:30.
