Dear Kelly’s Ford Community,
We completely understand the frustration surrounding our recent show cancellations, and we want to sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. The entire Kelly’s Ford team is incredibly eager to bring vibrant competition back to our property, and we want to provide some clarity on why these difficult decisions were made.
Our goal is always to host a safe, high-quality event, and a few unexpected hurdles came our way:
The First Show: Due to severe inclement weather, our rings were frozen and unusable, and the surrounding roads were iced over. For the safety of everyone—and especially your horses—traveling was simply not a safe option.
The Next Two Shows: These were canceled following strict veterinary recommendations due to a local EHV-1 case. Prioritizing the health and biosecurity of our equine community will always be our top priority.
This Weekend’s Jumper Show: Because we are a reviving a show series, we heavily depend on pre-entries to gauge viability. With only 5 online entries, it appeared there was low interest, and we made the call to cancel assuming a 5-horse show wouldn't provide the competitive experience you all deserve. We know many riders prefer to enter day-of, but as we rebuild, pre-entries are vital to help us greenlight these events.
Moving Forward & Next Steps:
We are fully committed to rescheduling these events! We are actively working on finding new dates for the three missed shows and will share that information as soon as it is finalized.
🗓️ Save the Date: Please note that our September shows are locked in and will be held regardless of entry numbers!
We deeply appreciate your patience, support, and understanding as we navigate this comeback journey. It has been a long road, but we are so excited to welcome you all back to Kelly’s Ford soon!
Warmly,
The Kelly's Ford Equestrian Center Team
