Ten Tigers Mixed Martial Arts Ten Tigers offers four hours of training every week, two two-hour classes at each location.

We have three training academies in Rockingham County: Reidsville Academy - T/Th (6:30p-8:30p); RCC Academy - M/F (4:00p-6:00p); Eden Academy - M/F (6:30p-8:30p).

Shoutout to our JV tournament team's Summer Clifton and our Varsity tournament team's Claire Gillespie on successfully running the mandatory 3.5 mile run at the start of tournament training on 09/05! These girls did a great job despite the heat 🥵!

Both Claire and Summer are outstanding martial artists who are going to rock the tournaments next year! Claire has already proven herself to be a formidable and winning opponent, and Summer is, perhaps, our greatest rising star at Ten Tigers right now!

Shoutout to our JV tournament team's little Ava Sturgill (6-years-old) who was out running in the heat during fall tournament training on 09/05! Running alongside her was her father, Mr. Chris Sturgill!

For those who don't already know, all competitors on our tournament team are required to run a mandatory 3.5 mile run at the start of every practice. This run is designed to w**d out the uncommitted, and to build up the cardio and endurance of those who stick around!

At 6-years-old, running in that heat, Ava continues to vindicate her title as "the girl version of Dexter Filiault" as he is the only other 6-year-old to ever run a 5k during tournament training in this kind of heat!

I can't wait to see Ava compete at tournament next year! She is going to kick some serious butt!

Congratulations to our Eden Academy's Student Body Vice President, Amari Hopper, on earning his Army Physical Fitness Uniform as a cadet in the Morehead High School Army JROTC! Amari wore his PT uniform during submission wrestling training on Friday, 09/04!

I am super proud of this young man and look forward to seeing where his Army JROTC career takes him! He is definitely going to represent the Army well!

🎂 BIRTHDAY ANNOUNCEMENT!!! 🎂

Happy Belated Birthday to our Eden Academy's Kristopher Bridges, who turned 10-years-old on August 14! Our team got the chance to celebrate with Kris during one of our recent classes!

When I say that this kid is a prodigy in martial arts, I mean it 💯! Kris's sparring skills are on another level, and he is a natural born talent in the sport. He also possesses a maturity and leadership ability that greatly exceeds what would normally be expected of a kid of his age and rank! I am very fortunate to be his coach, and our team is thankful to count him in the bunch!

One day, I will successfully recruit this kid to compete at tournament, and he will win gold 🏆! Mark my words and return to this post when he does!

The girls are getting it done!!!

Shoutout to our Reidsville Academy's girls on banding together and regularly wearing their uniforms to Tang Soo Do class, including on 09/01! For those who don't know, Ten Tigers Martial Arts has a combination of mandatory and optional uniform days throughout the month. On these optional days, it is entirely up to the kids to voluntarily wear their uniform or not for extra merit points!

On 09/01, the wearing of the uniform broke down along gender lines. Every single girl in class wore their uniform, and every single boy, minus two, didn't 😅!

Unfortunately for me, my uniform broke last week and I am waiting for it to be repaired, so the instructors ended up wearing our uniforms along gender lines as well 😬😅!

The girls at our Reidsville Academy are showing tremendous leadership and discipline and are on a roll like I haven't seen from one gender in a long while!

Way to go, girls! Keep the momentum strong!

Congratulations to our Reidsville Academy's Izaiah Mayo on receiving the Intercontinental Tang Soo Do Organization Award for Integration of Gymnastics. This is an annual award presented to one nominated student who best integrated the sport of gymnastics into their study and performance of martial arts!

Izaiah had an incredibly ballsy bo staff routine at the 2026 All Korean Martial Arts World Championships in Atlantic City this past April. During the routine, Izaiah placed his weapon on the ground, performed a back flip and then did a few techniques without his weapon before picking it up again and completing the routine.

This could have gone one of two ways - his routine could have been criticized or highly praised depending on the judges opinions. As we suspected, it turned out great and he ended up placing in his division!

Way to go, Izaiah! Keep being 😎!

Shoutout to our Eden Academy's Tobais DeWalt on his absolutely awesome new boxing gloves! The design is quite fitting, as this kid has been on fire lately 🔥!

Some of Tobias' sparring gear, including his headgear, has been passed down from his mother, Ms. Shannon DeWalt, who took martial arts when she was younger! It always cool to see kids following in their parents' martial arts footsteps 👣!

We look forward to seeing Tobias put these gloves to good use later this week during boxing/kickboxing class!

Kris is such a mature kid for his age and a true prodigy in point sparring! I wait patiently for the opportunity to take this kid to tournament one day to mop the floor with his opponents! He is absolutely deserving of this promotion!

Our Reidsville Academy's Izaiah Mayo was challenged to drink from the dreaded Grog Bowl during our recent mudohoe (formal ball) on 08/15!

This disgusting Grog Bowl was prepared by students at the ball using a various assortment of mismatched ingredients 😬!

Way to go, Izaiah, on accepting the challenge and living to tell the tale 😅!
