I had the opportunity to watch former Warrior, and current Lindsay Wilson Blue Raider, Hunter Watkins play against Bethel. Hunter ranks in the top 10 nationally in kick returns. If you get a chance, go watch him play.

Today is the day of the Warriors first workout. It will be at the Lone Oak football field at 10 a.m. Wear shorts or jogging pants, t-shirt and cleats. We will work out for about an hour and a half and anyone who can stay we will play a short game of flag football. I hope to see all of you there along with some former Warrior football players. Bring a friend.

There will be a training session for anyone interested in being a part the Warriors football team. It is scheduled for April 1st, 2017 at the Lone Oak football field. We will start stretching at 10am. This will be conditioning only, no weight lifting. Participants will need to wear shorts/jogging pants, t-shirt, and cleats. Bring water or sports drink. The training session will last about 1.5 hours. I hope to see lots of people there.

There be a Warriors meeting this coming Thursday at Marquette Transportation in Paducah: 150 Ballard Circle. Meeting will start at 7pm. Meeting is in the back of the building. Walk up the breezeway in the back, and its the 1st set of glass doors on the right. Please let anyone who is interested know. See you then.

The 3rd informational meeting of the Warriors Football team will be held this Thursday night, March 2nd @ Acree and Associates Realty in Mayfield at 7pm

We will have our first official Sign-Up that night as well. You do not have to attend the meeting to sign-up and commit to the team, especially if you have already attended one of the previous meetings. You can email or text us to sign up. Remember, we need 20-25 COMMITTED players AND their families to make the Warriors successful - and we need them by the end of March to be able to schedule games for this season.

Good evening. We recently had our 2nd meeting of the year concerning the Warriors football team. We are really close to having enough players to start this team up again. Our next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 2nd - location to be determined. However, if there is enough interest in a certain community I am more than glad to go there and meet and discuss this opportunity with players and parents who may be interested. For those of you who have not had an opportunity to attend either meeting, I do want to mention our key points:

- 25 players are needed to start the Warriors

- 10 - 15 volunteers are needed: coaches, fundraisers, treasurer, organizers, schedulers, recruiting players, etc

- There will be no cost to the players. However, we are 100% self funded by way of volunteers helping to raise money for this program. Money goes to: upgrading equipment, travel costs, field rentals, paying officials, purchasing new equipment/jerseys, purchasing items to sell at concessions, etc.

- Sign ups will be shortly after the March 2nd meeting. We will schedule sign ups on that date.

- Practices will be up to 4 days per week, up to two hours per practice, prior to our 1st game. Then we will practice on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday of each week during the season. Games will be on Friday (may be a Saturday game if scheduling allows).

- Travel will be required. Games could be as far as Nashville and Memphis. We will attempt to assist with travel with fundraised money.

- #1 thing we need to ensure success of the 2017 season is committed players and parents. The season will not be able to exist for the Warriors if players aren't willing to meet the requirements of practices, or if they decide to quit prior to the season ending. It is crucial that we have each parent's support and commitment of their child for the entire season.

I am very optimistic that, together, we can once again have a Warriors football team. We still have work to do. I am willing to take in any and all suggestions that could help make this happen. Please feel free to reach out to me via email at [email protected] or text me at 1-314-258-6201.

We will have our 2nd Warrior's meeting this Thursday, 2/17/2017 at 7pm. It will be held at Christian Fellowship School in Marshall County. Address: 1343 US 68, Benton, KY 42025. Please let everyone you know that may be interested in playing, coaching or volunteering in any way know about it. We need lots of support. We are short on time on putting together a team because other teams are filling up their schedules. I look forward to seeing you all there.

We had a very encouraging meeting last night concerning the West Kentucky Warriors football team. Five families showed up who have kids that have interest in joining the team and the families are willing to put their time into helping put this team back together. Some of the parents who were at the meeting have resources at schools that are fairly local which don’t offer football. In the next 2 – 3 weeks each of us (and anyone you can recruit to help) will be attempting to reach out to young men and parents of those young men to try and gain interest in joining this football team. The player headcount to start this team is 22 – 24 total players who can play immediately. I can confirm that at this point we have 5 – 6, so we have some work to do. However, with the effort from volunteers to help recruit the needed players I feel that fielding a team in 2017 is very possible. We have tentatively scheduled a follow-up meeting for 2/16/2017. I will be sending out notifications as we get additional information about that meeting. In the meantime, let’s do everything we can to get players and additional volunteers.

There will be a meeting this Thursday evening at New Concord United Methodist Church in Paducah at 7pm. We will cover all things concerning The West Kentucky Warriors football team. We will be covering a number of topics and we will be able to answer any questions or concerns anyone might have. Please forward this information to anyone who might be wanting to play or volunteer.
