This one was a special project. ⚾️
A good friend asked me to restore his son’s 20+ year old Mike Piazza glove so he could give it back to him. This wasn’t just another baseball glove. It was a piece of his childhood.
Over the restoration, I:
Deep cleaned the leather
Repainted the original stamping and logos
Completely relaced the glove
Repaired the palm adhesive
Rebuilt and reshaped the inner palm padding to bring the glove’s structure back to life
Deep conditioned the leather to restore its look and feel
There’s something different about bringing an old glove back from the brink, especially when it’s headed back to the person who made memories with it years ago.
It meant a lot to be trusted with something that carried so many memories. I’m grateful I could help my buddy give his son a restored piece of his past. Here’s to many more years of memories with this glove.
