“Use your head!” vs. “Have a heart!”
It’s an ongoing leadership argument, and no matter your opinion, there’s an educated, meaningful argument for the other side. The more you love your business, your work, your people, your mission, the harder it is to make decisions with your head. The more rational, logical, data-driven you tend to be, the more frequently people believe you to be missing emotion.
I’m here to tell you, the most successful leaders have both, and know exactly when to use them. Successful leaders choose the head or heart at the right time, in spite of the scrutiny it may bring. Eleanor Roosevelt said it well when she said, “To handle yourself, use your head; to handle others, use your heart.” At Instar, we are coaching leaders:
“Decide with your head, and implement with your heart.”
Join us tomorrow, Tuesday, August 22 at 10:00am Pacific, 1:00pm Eastern for this interactive discussion as we explore the head vs. heart debate. Cat will share her most expensive lesson learned along the way! "Tuesday's With Gordy - A Chat With Cat" is a casual, intimate conference call. You can participate, or just listen in.
