Prayer + heavy work

Sometimes the best regulation you can find are the simplest things that cost you nothing.

Some Jesus and a solid swear session. It’s not about muscles. It’s strengthening yourself from@the inside out.

Trusting God when you have an ADHD brain that would REALLY like to know the plan, the backup plan, the timeline, and approximately 17 other details…

is a spiritual discipline. 😂

So yes, I gave it to God.

And yes, I tried to pick it back up.

We’re working on it. 🤍

I’ve been working on something.

And the more I write it, the more I realize how much I need it too.

Not deeper theology for the sake of knowing more.

The basics.

How do I actually pray when my brain won’t quiet down?

What does trusting God look like when I don’t know what He’s doing?

How do I hear truth when my feelings are LOUD?

How do I live out my faith on a completely ordinary Tuesday?

So we’re going back to school.

Faith 101. 📚

And class is almost in session.

No perfect attendance required. 😉

I remembered the lunches.
The scheduled.
The forms.
The appointments.
The work stuff.
The thing one kid mentioned they needed 3 days ago and they now need it RIGHT NOW.

I remembered to check on everyone else. Somewhere in the middle of all of that, I forgot to check on ME.

That’s the wild part of being an ADHD mom, my brain can be carrying out 37 tasks at once, but I skip the task that is taking care of me.
Did I eat?
Did I drink water?
Did I move my body?
Did I talk to Jesus today?

Sometimes you just need to put yourself back on your toes do list.

POV: you have ADHD and so do your kids.

Back to school week is HARD. Kids are adjusting. We are adjusting, and still have the same tasks to handle.
Mom masks until she melts, kids mask all day and come unglued when they get home. And we still have to figure out what’s for dinner.

You don’t have to wait for the “storm” to pass, invite Jesus into the chaos. He excels there.
Maybe add a couple more reminders to get through the next morning until the new routine is in place.
