Team 1 took sole possession of 3rd place in CBL to earn a CIF-SS berth for the 1st time in 7 years. Took ownership of the city. Team 1 is a group of girls that don't have quit in their heart AND you add a player that was so feared, she was intentionally walked 5 times....3 in 1 game alone 🤭.....you're gonna have a good season

Strong Hitting Not Enough As Redlands East Valley Varsity Wildcats Falls To Mira Costa Varsity Mustangs

Even though Redlands East Valley Varsity Wildcats collected 14 hits to Mira Costa Varsity Mustangs's 10, they still fell 9-7 on Thursday. Alexis Halamicek and Leylii Christensen each collected three hits for Redlands East Valley Varsity Wildcats.

Alexis Halamicek collected three hits in four at bats in the loss. Alexis Halamicek hit a home run to center field in the first inning, singled in the fifth inning, and singled in the seventh inning.

A line out by Maelie Fasano put Mira Costa Varsity Mustangs on the board in the top of the first.

Redlands East Valley Varsity Wildcats made the score 4-1 in the bottom of the first after an error scored one run, and Alexis Halamicek homered to center field, scoring three runs.

Mira Costa Varsity Mustangs flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring seven runs on six hits to take the lead, 8-4. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Camille Geissert that drove in two.

Lakaii Christensen hit a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the third for the Redlands East Valley Varsity Wildcats.

Piper Silvestre pitched three and one-third innings in relief for Redlands East Valley Varsity Wildcats. The hurler surrendered three hits and one run while, striking out five and walking two. Isa Navarro began the game for Redlands East Valley Varsity Wildcats. The right-handed pitcher surrendered six hits and eight runs (two earned) over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking two. Morgan Garfield started in the circle for Mira Costa Varsity Mustangs. The righty allowed eight hits and six runs (two earned) over three innings, striking out two and walking one.

Redlands East Valley Varsity Wildcats collected 14 hits in the game. Gabby Torres, Mele Wilson, and Lakaii Christensen each collected multiple hits for Redlands East Valley Varsity Wildcats. Redlands East Valley Varsity Wildcats ran wild on the base paths, piling up five stolen bases for the game.

Mira Costa Varsity Mustangs accumulated 10 hits in the game. Mira Costa Varsity Mustangs's Casey Collins, the number seven hitter, led Mira Costa Varsity Mustangs with three hits in four at bats. Camille Geissert, Lucy Beheshti, and Addie Hughes each drove in two runs for Mira Costa Varsity Mustangs. Gigi Corvera collected two hits for Mira Costa Varsity Mustangs in three at bats. Mira Costa Varsity Mustangs had a strong eye at the plate, piling up five walks for the game.

For the 1st time since 2019 REV Wildcats Softball has earned a CIF playoff spot with their 3rd place finish in CBL.

This is also REV 1st winning season overall (16-10) since the 2017-2018 season (24-8)

But, the job's not finished

Playoffs start May 14th
